Iβm not a fan of yearly goals, because I tend to forget about them. Last year I had a few yearly goals, but focused my energy and time on monthly goals. I plan to continue my monthly goals for 2013, but also have a few yearly goals that I have all year to accomplish.
I present to you my 2013 resolutions:
1. Perfect the crow pose.
2. Run at least 1 half marathon and beat my current time.
3. Start a physical journal and keep writing throughout the year.

January Goals
1. Start Jamie Easonβs Live Fit Trainerβ¦again. Yep, itβs back on. Iβve mentioned in a few recent posts that Iβm looking to start weight training again. Weight training makes me feel stronger and the Jamie Eason plan gave me more purpose at the gym. Although I wonβt be following the plan exactly (I wonβt be following her cardio and meal plan), I think it will give me guidance on exercises at the gym.
2. Set a venue and date for our wedding. Wedding planning has been hectic over these last few weeks, partially because of the holidays. Now that we have set a budget and the holidays are over, Iβm hoping things are smooth sailing from here.
3. Find a new place to live. Yep, weβre moving again. We need to figure out our living situation by the end of this month, because of our lease terms. We have a place in mind, but we just need to figure out the logistics of when a unit will become available.
4. Learn calligraphy. Itβs a random goal for this month, but Iβd like to learn calligraphy so I can address all of our wedding invitations by myself. Plus, I think it would be cool to learn anyway.

- What are some of your new yearsβ resolutions?
- Do you set yearly, monthly or weekly goals?
- Do you have a physical journal or do you keep one electronically?
Great resolutions! I love that they’re specific and actionable. I also picked up a journal this year! It can be therapeutic sometimes.
Thanks Meredith! Which journal did you get?
I’ve been thinking about starting a fitness diary…let me know if you stick to yours and how you like it!
Will do π
Nice, specific goals, Nicole! I love having a handwritten journal. I use it probably once a week or so and keep it by my bed. Best wishes for a happy, healthy new year!
Thanks Laura. I used to keep a hand written journal all through college, but since then I can’t seem to find the motivation to use one. It needs to be the right journal and pen probably, and I’ll have to keep it right next to my bed.
You have good goals! I really need to get better handwriting before I start addressing wedding invitations!
Thanks Erin! I hear ya on that one. Wedding invitations are SUPER expensive as is, and getting them addressed professionally is another expense! Hopefully I learn calligraphy so I can DIY that one!
ok, that yoga pose looks hard!! i’ve thought about starting a physical journal, but just never get around to it lol hope your able to figure out your living situation!!
AHah me too! I’m trying to not stress about it, but that and wedding seems to take over my life!
Journaling is such a great habit to develop! (and don’t worry sister, still working on the perfect crow over here too!)
Some days I can do crow without any problem and others it’s a struggle. Looking for more consistency π
I used to love calligraphy! My fifth grade teacher was amazing at it and every so often would give us “lessons” it was awesome!
I learned it back in grade school too I think. Don’t you need a specific pen?
I need to get back in the wedding scene! I haven’t been very motivated! I’m hoping all of the bridal shows this month get me back into the swing of things!
Ah I wish I was like you. It’s all I think about. Super unhealthy!
OH
Im with you in the CROW POSE ATTEMPTS!!
This will get me to go yoga much more if I know I have a pose to perfect π
OHH i am taking up a writing thing too, not calligraphy but creating these doodles, sounds silly but i love it!
sounds awesome amanda!
That’s awesome!! It’s something that isn’t fitness related and keeps us balanced!
