So you can probably guess from the title of this post that my bachelorette party was this past weekend! It was (sort of) a surprise, but since I have things planned every weekend until the wedding, I knew that it was probably happening soon. Everything else from the bachelorette party was a complete surprise.
Since I realized that this post is going to be SUPER long, I decided to break it up into a few posts. This is just part 1. Enjoy!
At around 8:30AM on Saturday, I received a phone call from Bryan’s sister. She said that I had two hours to get ready because today was my bachelorette party. Everyone started arriving to my apartment around 10:30AM, and at 11:00AM our limo pulled up! I was completely shocked. I saw the front of a black car from outside my window, but when the ladies pulled me outside, I was so surprised to see a limo.
At this point, I still didn’t know where we were going. They didn’t tell me until the champagne was poured that we were on our way to Baltimore! I was SO surprised, because once I saw the limo I thought “Oh, we’re probably headed into Philly or maybe Atlantic City.” I had no idea that we’d be taking a 2 hour drive to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. I absolutely love Baltimore, so I was thrilled.
How cute are those little wine name tags?! Kristin made them.
Our first stop was DeJon Vineyards in Hydes, Maryland. When we arrived, I was instantly drawn to the gorgeous land. There were houses around the vineyard that had wrap around porches and huge yards. For a second I wanted to move there, but then I realized I’d be miles and miles from a Target…
When we walked through the barn area where the we had the tasting, we quickly realized that it was someone named Andrea’s bridal shower. LOL. Poor Andrea. She had a bunch of random chicks walking around her bridal shower. We ended up introducing ourselves and congratulating her anyway because we felt bad.
Our tasting was great. We tasted all of the wines and each picked out our favorite. Mine was the “Sweet Denise” which was basically a Riesling. It was sweet, but not too sweet. My second favorite was the Merlot.
After the tasting, we each grabbed a glass of wine and we given a quick tour of the property. The weather was pretty wonderful, a little windy, but not too bad at all. We learned a lot about the different wines they make and how they bottle and label everything by hand!
Before we left the vineyard, we had a gorgeous picnic on the lawn. By this point, we were starving and needed something to soak up all of the champagne and wine we’d been drinking. Thank goodness Bridgett had a picnic basket, because it definitely was very handy. We had an assortment of cheese, fruit, crackers, hummus and chocolate – all of my favorite things!
Part 2 will be up tomorrow!

This looks like fun!! And I that is weird that they didn’t have a separate room or something, so the Bridal party could have had theirs and you could have had yours. And Yum!! That picnic food sounds amazing!!
