I feel like a baby product connoisseur these days. Before I buy anything, I research like crazy to make sure I’m getting the best of the best – no matter how inexpensive the item. And because of this, I haven’t purchased many duds! You may have noticed that I’ve been talking a lot about feeding supplies on InstaStories, but today I’m going more in depth. Let’s get into my tried and true best baby and toddler feeding supplies.
1. Phillips Avent My Bendy Straw Cups: If you read any baby forum, you’ll find at least a hundred posts talking about sippy cups and straw cups. Which is easiest for baby? Which are leak-proof? Which are great for traveling? The questions go on and on. We opted to go straight for the straw cup, because a sippy spout isn’t the best for baby’s oral development {read this}. We love the Phillips Avent My Bendy cup because the cap closes over the straw, it has handles, and it’s really easy to clean. We used the Munchkin Weighted Straw Cups for a while, because everyone raved about them. Personally, I wasn’t a fan. They had SO many parts and were a pain to clean! Save yourself the trouble and buy the Phillips Avent ones from the get-go.
2. Hydro Flask 12oz: Lots of adults have a Hydro Flask, so why not one for baby? I’ll admit that I thought it was bougie to get Vienna a Hydro Flask, but I’m so glad I did. The 12oz one is the perfect size for Vienna. I fill it with milk every day for daycare, and Vienna’s teachers portion it into her straw cup at each meal. It keeps liquids cold for hours, so I plan on using it on the weekends as we run errands.
3. Thermos Funtainer: We use the Thermos Funtainer when I pack Vienna lunch for school. We have the pink Funtainer, but it comes in a variety of colors and characters, if you have an older child who is very opinionated! Haha. It’s really easy to clean and it keeps her food warm for about 4-5 hours.
4. Munchkin Snack Catchers: Although the Munchkin straw cups were a flop for us, their snack containers are great. I’ve recommended them to so many moms. Vienna can stick her hand through the rubber top and grab a few puffs or Toasted O’s. I can throw the container in my bag and don’t have to worry about them spilling out. I will say… Vienna will sometimes press down on one of the rubber flaps and shake the container, making it rain puffs. Aside from that, we are very pleased with this purchase.
5. OXO Tot Block Food Containers: I’m a huge fan of the OXO brand. We have so many of their products in our kitchen. When Vienna first started purees, I bought the 2oz OXO Tot Blocks for daycare. (We can’t send glass containers.) We eventually sized up to the 4oz ones and still use them now for applesauce and yogurt. The lids really stay on and are leak-proof. There’s been times when I’ve accidentally dropped a full container and not a drop spilled out.
6. Munchkin Soft-Tip Spoons: We love these Munchkin spoons so much. They are soft, flexible, inexpensive and dishwasher-safe. Although Vienna is no longer eating purees, we still use them for yogurt and applesauce! I bought ours from Amazon, but you can find them at most stores including Target and Giant.
7. GOOtensils: I’m part of a few Facebook groups that discuss feeding babies and toddlers. In one post, someone mentioned that GOOtensils helped their child learn how to pick up and use a spoon. I was of course curious and bought a set to try out. Each set comes with two flat head spoons that are the perfect size for a baby’s hand. The blue spoon has a textured end that grabs thinner purees, while the orange spoon has open channels that trap thicker foods. It’s hard to explain, but go check them out here.
8. OXO Tot Waterproof Roll-up Bibs: These OXO bibs are amazing (I know it sounds like this whole post is sponsored by OXO, but it’s not!) Truth be told, I’ve only tried one type of bib on Vienna and never looked back. I love that these are easy to clean, they have a pocket that catches crumbs, and I can roll them up tightly to use on the go. The best feature is that the entire thing isn’t made from a hard silicone, like most bibs with a front pocket. These are extremely flexible and soft!
9. Pottery Barn Kids Lunch Box: After Vienna’s old lunch box ripped, I searched all over the Internet for a replacement. I ended up ordering the Mackenzie Lavender Iridescent lunch box from Pottery Barn Kids. We have the Cold Pack version, which is the larger of the two options. I love the color, because I’m growing tired of everything being pink around here. Plus, the iridescent detailing reminds me of stuff I had in the 90s! Too cute. I love that it has a shoulder strap and multiple compartments, including a mesh pocket on the side to hold her Hydroflask. PB Kids has a bunch of different lunch boxes, so definitely browse around their site if you’re in the market for one.
10. NameBubbles Labels (c/o): Also, because I know I’m going to get some questions about this… the labels we use on all Vienna’s feeding supplies (& even her clothing) is from NameBubbles. I can’t recommend these enough, and have told so many people about them already. They have a ton of patterns to choose from and the quality is so great. They are dishwasher safe and have stayed on for months now and look brand new.
The Munchkin snack containers are a definite win. And I love your other suggestions! Wish I had some of these around at the time!
