This post was supposed to go up on Tuesday, but as I mentioned in this post… it didn’t happen. Better late than never though, right? So let’s get right into it. Today we’re talking all about tea. I’ll be sharing some of my favorites, as well as the BEST tea organizer in the world.
But let me back up for a moment.
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a huge coffee drinker. I depend on it in the mornings to help with productivity {terrible, I knowww}. However, I can’t do coffee all day long, because my stomach would hate me. So when I need something in the afternoons and at night, tea is my jam. It doesn’t matter if it’s 30 degrees or 70 degrees, I usually like to drink my tea hot. It just feels comforting. You know?
So yes, hot tea is my thing. My apartment and cubicle are STOCKED. I get panicky when my stash is getting low, because I have it every single day. I drink it while I’m powering through work, while I’m watching countless episodes of Parenthood, while I’m reading, while I’m blogging, whenever.
Let’s get right into my favorite teas.
You guys already know about my love for peppermint tea, so I won’t talk too much about it in this post. It’s probably my ride-or-die. I’ve talked about the benefits of peppermint in this post and this post, so go read if you want to learn more. Some of my favorite brands are Dean and Deluca, and Celestial Seasonings. The Dean and Deluca is loose leaf tea, and the Celestial Seasonings one doesn’t come in separate envelopes, so I don’t keep those in my tea organizer {which I’ll tell you all about later on in this post}.
Raspberry Leaf
Raspberry leaf is the bomb, because it’s a multi-purpose tea. It’s naturally high in magnesium, potassium, iron, vitamin C, and B vitamins, so it helps with nausea, upset stomach, period cramps, endometriosis, and the common cold. I drink at least 2-3 cups a day, because I find that it personally helps with digestion after lunch. If you have digestive issues, I recommend you try raspberry leaf tea. So yummy and so good for you.
Gypsy Cold Care
Alright next up is Gypsy Cold Care tea, which is pretty timely because Bryan has a cold right now. He had a cup last night and gave it his stamp of approval. Gypsy Cold Care tea is a blend of elder, yarrow and peppermint, and tastes minty, slightly sweet and spicy. It soothes the throat and relieves stuffy head, nose and chest. It’s very fragrant, so it helps open up your sinuses. Whenever I feel a cold coming on, I like to drink a cup of this tea. To be honest, I don’t think it gets rid of the cold any faster, but it certainly relieves some of the symptoms!
English Breakfast
Oy, English breakfast. I have a love/hate relationship with English Breakfast tea. Some nights I love it, and some nights I’d prefer to drink ANYTHING else. It really depends on my mood. I like to keep a bunch on hand though, because Bryan really enjoys it. English Breakfast is a rich and full-bodied black tea, so I like to add a splash of almond milk and a pinch of sugar. Although black tea isn’t packed with as many nutrients as the other teas in this post, it can prevent or reverse some types of artery diseases, lower the risk of heart attack and stroke, reduce the risk of kidney stones, and reduce cholesterol.
Ginger Turmeric
Last but certainly not least is ginger turmeric tea. This tea has so many benefits, it’s insane. Ginger helps improve digestion {and IBS!}, aids in weight loss, manages Glucose levels, helps the body absorb nutrients, relieves tired muscles, and so much more. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory, soothes sore throats, boosts the immune system, detoxes the liver, improves brain function, and regulates the metabolism. I personally love this one from Trader Joe’s, but other great brands include The Republic of Tea, Traditional Medicinals, and Numi.
Now that you know my favorite teas, let’s get into how I organize them all.
As much as I LOVE tea, I hate having boxes and boxes of it in my kitchen. They get so beat up over time, and always seems to get pushed to the back of the cabinet. Plus, living in an apartment, we don’t have a lot of cabinet space to begin with.

I swear you guys. I was browsing around The Container Store one day, saw it, and decided that I needed to have it in my life. The one I bought is BPA free, has six sections, and can hold up to 72 tea bags. I love that it’s clear, because that way I can easily see what’s in there and know when I need to restock my stash. I also thoroughly enjoy how it looks on my counter. So fresh and so clean.
I know that not all of you might live near a Container Store, or want to spend $75 there to get free shipping, so I picked out some great options on Amazon Prime: this acrylic one, this wooden one, this one that also stores K-cups, and this compact vertical one. There’s so many on the market.

Love this. I’m always looking for new ways to store tea. The boyfriend and I have exact opposite tastes in tea, so there’s a LOT going on in our kitchen. I also feel like I either need to buy teaBAGS or loose leaf tea, the ones that come in a box, but aren’t individually wrapped are kind of a pain to store.
