Yesterday, I headed down to the city to meet up with an old friend and fellow blogger, Mecca. We used to work together when I was 16 at Rita’s Water Ice. We’ve stayed in touch since then, but the last time I saw her was last summer before I started my master’s program. We decided that we need to see each other more often.
I was planning on going to the city to check out the Zara store, so I was happy I could meet up with Mecca as well. I headed to Zara and couldn’t believe all the gorgeous items! I think I’ve found my favorite store… ever. I gathered a few items and made my way to the dressing room. Unfortunately, all of the jeans were too long; however, I did end up leaving with a gorgeous pair of ankle length skinny trousers.
Not sure why my hair looks so short in this photo.
I tried on those shoes as well, but they were NOT comfy at all.

After buying the pants, I met up with Mecca and we headed to CVS to get a few snacks before lunch. I saw a line of Vita Coco drinks in the refrigerated section and wanted to try one. I grabbed the coconut + pineapple flavor. It was amazing! I read good things about this company before, but always was hesitant to trying them out. Later on in the day I headed to the grocery store to buy more of this variety, but my store didn’t carry this flavor.
Mecca and I headed to lunch around 2:30. We went to a place called Devon Seafood, which is located right in Rittenhouse Square. We split the fried calamari, which came with a sweet and sour sauce and a remoulade sauce. Very delicious, but a tad bit over fried. I chose the fresh greens salad to start and a fresh swordfish for my entree. The swordfish came with risotto and a red wine sauce. Probably one of my favorite swordfish dishes to date.
For dessert, Mecca chose a petite lemon meringue pie and I chose the cookie box. I was so full after dinner that I decided to just pack up the cookie box for later. The box included 2 of each kind: shortbread, lemon, and fudge brownie. The lemon was my favorite!
What’s your favorite go-to dinner?
