This past weekend I invited some friends over for a Fall Harvest Party, sponsored by Food Should Taste Good. We don’t entertain too frequently since our apartment isn’t very large, but when FSTG reached out to me I couldn’t pass it up. My friend Leslee was planning to have a Halloween costume party the same weekend, so I didn’t want to do the same thing. I went to my trusty companion, Pinterest, and came up with the idea for a Fall Harvest Party!
Who doesn’t love a Fall Harvest Party complete with a chili bar, homemade corn bread, and chips and hummus!? It was the perfect way to start the fall season. Great friends, delicious food, and fun times.
When I think of fall, I think of watching football games, enjoying parades, and eating loads of comfort food. When I was brainstorming different types of food for the party, I immediately decided on a chili bar with all the accompaniments you could think of. It’s so easy to put together!
Chili Bar
– a delicious, hearty chili (via Gimme Some Oven)
– cornbread
– jalapeno bread
– compound butters for the cornbread (Danica made a cinnamon honey & a chipotle chile)
– sour cream
– green onions
– hot sauce
– jalapenos
– cheddar cheese
Appetizers
– pear, goat cheese and honey crostini
– crudités with homemade spinach dip
– FSTG chips with Mediterranean hummus
Everyone raved about the chips from FSTG. Our favorite flavors were Olive and Sweet Potato. Both tasted delicious by themselves and with the hummus. Many of my friends have never heard about FSTG before, but once I showed them the bag they recognized the logo from the grocery store.
Even Pete joined in on the fun. He had so much fun he found a quiet sleeping spot!
