Ever wake up and youโre already in a bad mood? Thatโs how this morning was. My alarm went off as usual at 5:30, and Bryan got up to get dressed for work. Usually I wake up that time as well to give myself time to relax, enjoy my breakfast, and watch the news. This morning I must have fallen back to sleep because Bryan woke me up right as he was leaving for work. Oh, and I think I have a cold coming on โ just in time for my birthday next week. GREAT.
OK, Iโm done ranting for the day. Letโs get to my Friday Favorites for the week. The theme for this weekโฆ Engagement Favorites!
1. Sunday started like any other Sunday. Bryan and I sat on the couch and caught up on our favorite TV shows. Last Sunday we watched American Horror Story. It didnโt start very romantic, but it surely ended that wayโฆ I got ENGAGED! Clearly a favorite from this week. You can read the post about our engagement. The photos really donโt do it justice!
2. Sharing the good news with all of my family and friends. One of my favorites from this week definitely was sharing the news of the engagement with everyone. Bryan and I went to his parents house Sunday afternoon to give them the news, and we called everyone who we knew we couldnโt see on Sunday. It was so amazing to hear the excitement in everyoneโs voices on the phone when I broke the good news! For those of you who left me comments/messages/tweets etc. this week, I am so grateful!
3. Organizing my Pinterest Account. Sure, I gave thought to my future wedding for a while, but now that itโs actually real I knew I had to do some organizing on my Pinterest account. I deleted my former Wedding Inspiration album (over 200 pins!) and started fresh with more specialized boards {Wedding Attire, Wedding Venues, Wedding Details etc.}. Some people might think that organizing is boring and tedious, but I love it!
4. Finally looking at Wedding Planning books at Barnes and Noble without people thinking Iโm strange. This is something that I plan to do this weekend if I have time. I was at Barnes and Noble last week with my friend Danica, but that was before I was engaged! Now when Iโm drooling over the amazing books that will keep me organized during my planning, I wonโt get weird stares.
5. Looking down at my hand and being reminded that someone loves me unconditionally. Sure, I know Bryan loved me SO much before buying me a material object, but now that itโs on my hand I am constantly reminded that I have him in my life. Awww.

Aw yay!! Thank you !
so happy for you guys!!!
running, cookie making, and food shopping!
Thanks Chelsea! It’s a very exciting time in our lives. We’re looking forward to it ๐
Aww so sweet, sounds like you had a fantastic week.
I was actually never engaged. We met, dated long distance for 3 months then decided Dec. 30th, 1996 to get married the next day. 24 hours later we did just that, had an actual wedding, mini reception, cake, etc. We celebrate 16 years this New Year’s Eve!
This weekend we’ll spend time with my stepson and do Christmas shopping. Then Sunday local client web design and other biz stuff.
Have a great weekend!
It was a pretty amazing week. I hope this one is just as good – My birthday is on Friday! ๐
I’m so happy for you! And so excited to check out your pinterest boards for more inspiration!

Thanks Sylvia!

Thanks Clare! I’m very excited. So much to do – but we won’t really start seriously planning until after the holidays
I hate waking up in a bad mood! But at least it’s Friday! Have a good weekend!
Waking up in a bad mood always sets the mood for the day – it’s unfortunate! LOL. Hope you have a good week!
I have been to barnes and nobels like 50 times just to look at wedding magazines to get ideas! I also have pinned like a million things on pinterest but made one private board of things I really really really want and know I want!
that’s a good idea! I’ll prob make a private board too – don’t wanna give away all my ideas ๐
Congrats!! Being engaged is the best (although now 7 years later, having traveled and done other wonderful things, and with a baby on the way, I can also tell you that the best is yet to come!) But still, it is such a special time and so fun to have all your friends and family so happy for you ๐
Thanks Cara! YES! It’s such an important time for us, but I know it’s important to keep things into perspective.
