Good morning and happy Friday! It’s been really cold lately in the Philadelphia area, but this weekend it’s supposed to be at least 50 degrees. Can’t complain about that. I hope to get outside, enjoy the mild weather, and take Pete for a few long walks. We’re watching my sister-in-law’s dog, Moose, so he’ll be coming along as well. 

Let’s get into my Friday Favorites.

1. Cuddling with Pete 

Pete’s been super cuddly this week, even more so than usual. I think it’s because it’s so cold and he wants to keep warm. He’s so cute, I can’t handle it. As I’m writing this post, he’s lying right next to me with his nose buried underneath my leg. 

2. Why GenY is Unhappy 

I came across an article titled, “Why Generation Y Yuppies Are Unhappy,” that I think hits home for a lot young people. Unfamiliar with GenY? There’s varying dates on what classifies someone as being in this generation, but this article states that it’s people born between the late 1970s and the mid 1990s. Basically, the author (Tim Urban) talks about how the generations before us have shaped GenY into who they are today, and why they feel so self-entitled. Tim also provides three career tips for Generation Y. If you’re a part of GenY, I highly recommend you read the article.  

3. Room

Okay, so this is a premature favorite I suppose since I didn’t actually see the movie yet. However, after watching the trailer for “Room”, I’m completely hooked and can’t wait to watch it soon. “Room” is up for a bunch of Academy Awards this year, and I’m not surprised. The film is about a mother and son who are held captive for five years and eventually escapes. The boy gets to experience the outside world for the first time. It’s based on the best-selling novel by Emma Donoghue. 

4. Finally Editing California Photos

After three months, I’ve finally gone through and edited photos from our vacation last November. We traveled to a bunch of cool places and even got to spend time with my cousin Amanda (pictured above). I’ll be sharing the photos on the blog next week.
