I finally got it.

The Garmin Forerunner 405 that I’ve been talking about and wanting for over a year now.

Thanks Bry!  I wasn’t even expecting a Christmas present this year, due to that sparkly thing on my finger.  You know… no big deal or anything. Winking smile

I’ve taken a break from running since the half marathon, but now that I have my new Garmin I’m very excited to get back out there and start running again.  It wasn’t too difficult to set up… once I figured out how to turn off the foreign language I accidentally set.

The only thing I need to figure out is how to set up the drivers so my laptop can read the USB stick. I downloaded everything it told me to and even tried re-downloading the drivers, but nothing is being read.  Anyone else come across this problem?

On another note:  a giveaway tomorrow!

Getting back into the gym

I don’t know about any one else, but I’m itching to go back to the gym after a pretty long hiatus.  After my , I really injured my knee and didn’t want to risk causing more damage.  Now that it’s all better again, I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.

A routine is how I get back into the gym.  If I go to the gym everyday before or after work, I’ll be more likely to keep going.  However, if I go once and then skip a few days, I’m more likely to skip many days.

With my busy work schedule, I know that the best time for me to go to the gym is probably in the mornings, however I like to use my mornings to catch up on freelance projects and blogging.  That being said, I’m going to try and go after work this week and see how I feel.  If I’m really sluggish, I’ll switch over to mornings.

Yessss I have the same Garmin Forerunner and I am in love with it. It does it all and is so simple to figure out on your own.

I’m not sure what the downloading trouble is, but good luck solving that one! Try tweeting at Garmin – they directed me toward helpful videos and maybe they can answer your question.

Yay Garmin! I’m definitely a routine person when it comes to working out. I find that the best way for me to come back after a hiatus is to treat my workouts like appointments. I write everything in my calendar and set out all my gear ahead of time. Knowing I have the time scheduled makes me more likely to stick to my workouts.

I’m going to try blogging at night and getting my workout in in the morning. Let’s see how tomorrow goes.

The Garmin website is super helpful. It has videos for each step of the set-up process 🙂 PS – My favorite thing about the 405 was found about a year after I had it. It has a setting for interval workouts. It was perfect for track work!!!

Ohh cool! I can’t wait to try it out. I’ll probably go for a run early saturday morning.

Yay!! I love my Garmin too. Hope you can figure out the issue with downloading. I have a hard time with morning workouts too, but have been making myself do it then most days because I feel so much more energized for my day.

Yeah, I’m going to try downloading the software to my fiance’s computer and see if that works.

Yay, I got a Garmin too, but I asked for the Forerunner 10! I can’t wait to try it out; I’m sick of using an app on my phone and hoping it’s accurate!

i hear ya on that one. I’m so tired of using Nike+ i swear it’s never accurate.

I’ve got the 405 and love it! If you still are having difficulties, their customer service is really great. Good luck with finding the right fit for your workout schedule. It’s tough to find time but you feel so much better once you get it in.

Thanks for the tip angela. I’m going to try and dl it to my fiance’s computer and see what happens. if no luck, I’ll give them a call 🙂

love the Garmin! I got a Garmin 410!I can’t wait to use it!
