In my opinion, getting in the holiday spirit isn’t complete without turning on Christmas music and decorating the tree. But this year we had a dilemma. In previous years, we placed our Christmas tree in our dining room because we never had a table and chairs. Since this year we have furniture in that space, we had to get creative and find a new spot for our tree. We decided to move an end table that was in between our two couches and put our tree there. Now the space between our couches is not large by any means, so we had to find a tree that wasn’t too wide. Luckily, with the help of Whole Foods we found the perfect tree!
Our local store is literally five minutes from our home, and they had a great selection of trees. Their Fraser Fir trees are between 7-8 feet and cost $49.99 each (mid Atlantic store pricing). Want to know something pretty cool? For every Christmas tree purchased, Whole Foods makes a donation to American Forests to plant a new evergreen tree.
As I mentioned in this post, we don’t have many ornaments and we can’t hang any too low to the ground because Pete will play with them. Other than that, I think our tree looks pretty good! I was telling Bryan the other day that it might be my favorite tree yet. It’s the perfect size for our space, without getting a tiny Charlie Brown tree (but those are awesome too!).
Tree Care Tips:
- Give your tree at least a gallon of water as soon as you get home. Check the water level daily and refill as needed.
- Choose a stand to fit your tree. Look for one that’s big enough for the trunk to pass through the upper ring.
- Place your tree away from heat sources like fireplaces, vents and radiators.
