It’s that time of year, folks. Gift guide time! It seems like every store has taken out its holiday merchandise and TV commercials are already announcing Black Friday deals. Since most people are getting a head-start on their holiday shopping, I figured it was a great time to start my annual gift guides. First up, is a gift guide for the men in your life – dads, husbands, uncles, grandparents, etc. Similar to last year, I enlisted Bryan’s help in rounding up the best gifts available.
1. Tommy Bahama St. Kitts Cologne, $65: A representative for Tommy Bahama was kind enough to send Bryan a bottle of their new St. Kitts cologne. Bryan loves it, and he’s very particular about scents. The cologne has top notes of lime, mandarin and starfruit, followed by cedarwood, watery accord and sea salt. It has dry notes of driftwood, ambergris and creamy musk. It’s a great cologne to be worn all year round.
2. Beats Solo2 Headphones, $129.99: Every guy needs a good set of headphones, and Beats is a trusted brand. The Solo2 has a more dynamic and wider range of sound than previous models. It has a flexible, curved headband giving a custom-fit feeling. It comes with a color-matched RemoteTalk cable, which enables the guy in your life to change songs, adjust the volume and take phone calls without having to reach for the device.
3. FitBit Charge, $115: Bryan has a FitBit and wears it every day. If the guy in your life likes to keep track of his fitness, this is a great gift. It tracks steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned, stairs climbed and overall active minutes. It can also monitor sleep! The device syncs wirelessly to computers and most smartphones.
4. Philips Norelco Shaver, $199.95: Although a bit pricey, Philips shavers last a long time. This one has a shaving head that moves in 8 directions to cut up to 20% more hair. The man in your life can use this wet or dry. It has three speed settings and can be used both wet or dry. This shaver also has a SmartClean system, which allows for easy maintenance.
5. Leatherman Skeletool, $65: This is on Bryan’s wishlist this year. He already has a Leatherman multitool, but I guess you can never have too many. This one is made of stainless-steel and tungsten, and is the lightest full-size multitool on the market. It has a 25 year warranty.
6. Bulova Precisionist Watch, $220: Bryan and I love our Bulova watches. This one is from the Precisionist line. It has a curved mineral crystal with silver rim, stainless steel case, and brown leather strap. It’s water resistant, so it can withstand rain or splashes of water, but not showering or swimming.
7. Death Wish Coffee, $19.99: Does your guy work a lot? Does he love coffee? If so, he’s going to love this next gift. Death Wish coffee has been named the world’s strongest coffee, because it has double the caffeine of average grounds. Bryan has had it on his wishlist for a few years now. It’s sold on Amazon in 1, 2 and 5 lb bags.
8. Fenix Flashlight, $72.95: This flashlight is on Bryan’s wishlist this year, and is apparently very hardcore. It lasts up to 50,000 hours and uses one rechargeable Li-ion battery or two Lithium batteries. It basically puts your iPhone flashlight to shame
9. Kindle Paperwhite, $139.99: If your guy is a reader, you have to get him the Kindle Paperwhite. It’s actually on my wishlist this year, so let me tell you why. It’s the newest Kindle model and has a higher resolution display (300 ppi). It has a built-in adjustable light, does not have screen glare, and its battery charge lasts weeks.
10. Apple Macbook Pro, $1299: I don’t know how I ever lived without my Macbook. I rave about it so much that now Bryan wants one. The retina display is where it’s at, so if you’re getting one, I highly recommend that version. It really makes all the difference.
