Bryan and I enjoy going to Whole Foods on the weekends because there are usually delicious samples. A few weeks ago, I was busy so Bryan went by himself. When he came back, he raved on and on about a vendor he met, Joan. He tried some of Joan’s gluten free baked goods and said they were fantastic! I did some research and found out that Joan sells gluten free baked goods in Freeport, NY and in her online shop. While I’m not gluten free, I know a few people who do follow a strict gluten free diet. They have trouble finding delicious gluten free alternatives that don’t taste like cardboard. I have the same problem when trying to find vegetarian options, so I feel their pain.
So today I’m sharing with you some of the yummy gluten free breakfast options from Joan’s GF Great Bakes.
First up are the corn toaster muffins, which come four to a pack. This was actually the one thing Bryan tried while at Whole Foods. These cakes are super easy to prepare and are enriched with 14 vitamins and minerals. We added a bit of butter to ours, but you could leave it out if you wanted. The thing that stands out about these, is that they are much larger than a normal toaster cake. These are a fair amount thicker and have a lot more flavor.
Next up are Joan’s Crumb Cakes. They are really dense and are packed with an amazing sour cream pound cake flavor. I initially thought that since these are frozen and a thicker cake, they would be water-logged and soggy when heated up. But to my pleasant surprise, they turned out just perfectly! They have a crunchy, slightly salty crumb topping that is to die for.
Joan was very helpful in explaining her products in further detail and how to prepare each item. Joan also makes other great GF options, including a Sicilian pizza, NY style pizza, English muffins, and Italian bread.
These products were provided for this post. As always, all opinions are my own.

Those muffins look so good. Glad they turned out good after heating, I would have thought the same thing.
Yes, I was pleasantly surprised!
