If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I attended The Blog Connect Conference this past Saturday and Sunday. It was a weekend jam packed with a kick off party, sessions, lots of laughs, new friends, and of course my panel all about working with brands. The panel received lots of positive feedback, which was so awesome. It’s hard to get up in front of an audience and answer rapid fire questions, so I’m glad that it was all worth it!
Before our panel, I had all my talking points mapped out in my head, but when I got the mic I kind of froze a bit. Haha, if you were there you might remember that the first question was, “Introduce yourself, how long you’ve been blogging, and what was one of your first brand collabs.” Seems pretty straightforward, no? Well, I got halfway through and forgot what the question was. Oy. It was all good.
I’m going to do a recap post next week where I’ll highlight the points that I talked about + some additional tips that I forgot to mention. Keep an eye out on social media so you know when that post goes live. It’s going to take me some time to write, but I want to make sure I’m as thorough as possible.
Ok, back to the conference … Throughout the weekend, I took notes on things that I want accomplish in the short term and in the long term. One of those things was Instagram Live. I’m honestly nervous about anything live because there’s legit no editing, but I think it would be a fun way to chat with you guys a bit more interactively. Plus – it’s such a more relaxed atmosphere than a full blown post and I can get your feedback as we go.
Since I’m a huge planner, I wanted to get something out in the Interwebz to keep me held accountable so I actually go through with this thing.
So… next Monday, May 1 at 7PM est I’m going on Instagram Live to share my monthly favorites – everything from wellness, clothing, beauty, apps and more. I can’t wait. It’s going to be a lot of fun, and SUPER informal. Make sure to add it to your calendar!
If this one goes well, I’ll do more in the future. I’m thinking things like Q&As, grocery hauls, organization tips, simple meals for on-the-go, and skinny cocktails. Sound good? Not sure how often the Lives will be just yet, but maybe bi-weekly. We’ll see.
It’s been over 8 years since I launched Simply Nicole, and sometimes it’s difficult to break out of routine and give a bit of a refresh. It’s about time! Don’t worry – content will still be the top priority here on the blog, but expect more new and exciting stuff soon.
Talk soon.
xo, Nicole
I am excited to read about what you talked about at the conference! 🙂
Haha all of us forgetting the very first question we were asked was too funny!
YAY for trying new things! I’ll try and tune in 🙂
