It’s not really a surprise that I love to write. I have this little ol’ blog and share my writing with the world. However, I’m also someone who loves journaling and writing just for me. I started journaling in elementary school and never looked back. There’s something so satisfying about finishing a journal and cracking open a brand new one — a world of opportunities for self discovery, reflection, and creativity. When I know someone loves to write, I love gifting them a nice journal because I truly believe writing can heal so much.
Sometimes I’ll open my journal with a very strong desire to write about something in particular. The words just flow and occasionally faster than I can write them down. But then there are other times when I’m feeling a calling to write, but have no idea where to start or what I need to get down on paper. Those are the days that I rely highly on prompts.
Prompts can be related to any topic you need, but below are some of my favorites related to self love. Self love doesn’t just end; it’s a continuous process. It’s a timely topic no matter what stage of life you’re in. I find that journaling helps when I’m feeling a bit less than or down on myself. Journaling helps steer me toward a more positive mindset.
