As part of my Autumn to do list, a goal was to organize my kitchen. I’ve tried organizing it many times in the past, but I never found something that worked for the long term. I thought it was perfectly fine to pile things on top of each other. “Oh, I’ll just move these cutting boards out of the way when I need to get that pan lid,” I would tell myself. Boy was I wrong. Instead of carefully moving items around to reach something else, they got thrown all around my cabinets. I needed a clutter intervention fast. I’ll be blogging about different areas of my kitchen throughout the next month or so, but today I’m talking about organizing pots and pans. Brace yourself, because the next picture isn’t pretty. I wish I could tell you that I purposely messed up the items, but my cabinet looked this way for probably a few months.
Once I pulled everything out of the cabinet, I wiped it down with my favorite surface cleaner (c/o) from Caldrea. This stuff smells absolutely amazing. Bryan isn’t a big “scent” person, but he actually really enjoys this. I soon realized that I needed to purchase some organizers to keep everything in its own place. After finding a better cabinet for some items, I narrowed down the essentials for this space. I’m very pleased with the outcome, because it makes prepping for meals that much easier.
