I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend. I know that I surely did. To sum it up, I spent a lot of time running errands, baking cookies, and spending time with family and friends by the pool.
Today’s post is the last post in my wedding series! If you missed my other wedding day recaps you can find them below.
Getting Ready
The Ceremony
The Cocktail Hour
Our reception was held in the tent off the Visitors Center at the arboretum. We had white linens, gray napkins and white chairs, as you can see in the photo above. We were fortunate enough that we didn’t have to spend extra money on lighting, because the space already had overhead lights and lights around the perimeter of the tent.
We danced our first dance to Lady Antebellum’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.” I was so excited for our first dance because it was a moment I had planned a long time ago. Bryan and I were taking a long drive one night (like we usually do), and I was browsing through the music on his iPod in his car. Eventually, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” came on and I told him right then and there that it would be our first dance song at our wedding.
My dad and I danced to Rod Stewart’s “The Way You Look Tonight.” Bryan and his mom danced to Rascal Flatts’ “My Wish.”
After the dances, it was finally time to eat. We had a salad with field greens, goat cheese, strawberries, blueberries, and a white balsamic vinaigrette. Our main course was a choice between prime rib or grilled swordfish. Bryan and I both ordered the swordfish which was marinated with a coconut curry sauce, and was accompanied by a side of vegetables and mashed sweet potatoes. It was delicious! We used Jeffrey Miller Catering and they were absolutely fantastic. Our food received rave reviews!
Sometime in-between courses, our best man and maid of honor gave their speeches. My sister was SO nervous! Both speeches were very thoughtful and made us laugh.
Everyone knows that after dinner is over, it is time to head to the dance floor! Here are some crazy photos from the night.
As you can see from the photos, our guests had a wonderful time! We had gray pashmina scarves for our guests in case they got chilly. The scarves ended up being a huge hit! We received them from FashionUnic, a website that sells pashminas, hats, leggings and much more all at wholesale cost. Since we needed around 45-50 of them, wholesale was the way to go!
If you’re interested in viewing more products from FashionUnic, check out their website. They have over 10,000 products for parties and weddings and have been in business since 2004. You can also email them at info@fashionunic.com.
Before the end of the night, Bryan and I cut our cake and actually sat down to eat a piece.
We had a wonderful night. Thank you again to all of the people that helped make our day so special. We couldn’t have done it without you.
By far my favorite wedding post!!! Love the pictures of everyone dancing, especially that one of Leslee and her man! And that last picture of you and Bryan, so adorable and romantic <3
Thanks so much, Chelsea!
