Our Weekend Projects

Thank goodness it’s Friday! Does anyone else feel like since it’s getting dark much earlier that you’re super unproductive at night? I get home from work and it feels like it’s time to shower and head to bed. I hope to add more structure into my nights in the coming weeks and share my new nightly routine with you soon. 

This weekend, Bryan and I have some home projects that we’d like to finish up and I couldn’t be more excited:

1. Anchor our new bookshelf to the wall and decorate it! Last weekend we put it together, but we didn’t have time to anchor it. I’m stoked to get it done this weekend so I can start decorating. It feels awesome to know our home office is almost finished. It’s been a mess for so long, I almost forgot how awesome the space is. Although I’m not looking forward to anchoring the bookshelf, I am looking forward to decorating! Isn’t that always the best part? 

2. Touch up our bar stools and secure the cushions. We finished one bar stool last weekend and this weekend we plan to complete the second. Both need just a small touch-up of paint and then they will be good to go! It will be nice to have seating in our kitchen again. At the current time, our office is being used as a painting station for these stools, so you can imagine how excited I am to finally finish this project and get rid of the drop cloth and paint that’s spread all the room. 

3. Start Anthropologie hack project! I saw this hook rack on the Anthropologie website and decided there was no way I was paying $88 for it. I picked up a piece of wood from my father-in-law a few weeks ago and this weekend I’ll be purchasing hooks and stain at Home Depot. Can’t wait to try to recreate this hook rack myself. It will look awesome either in our coat closet or on our foyer wall. I haven’t decided just yet where it will live.
