Many of you know that I’ve been training the past month and a half for the Race for Hope that I am running in memory of my mom. It has been tough to train for, partially because I wasn’t able to run a mile without stopping in the past. Now I can say that I can run around 1.5 miles without stopping. I’m still going to continue to train after the race. I’m sure I’ll get a race-bug and be inspired to keep training for something else. Do I see a half-marathon in my future? Heck yes I do!
Here is the playlist I will be jamming out to during the race. My mom’s favorite band was the Rolling Stones, so “Start Me Up” seemed like the perfect song to begin the race. Check out my full playlist below.
My sister, Bryan, and I will be doing the race this Sunday at the Art Museum. I hope to meet up with fellow healthy living blogger, Krissie, afterwards if timing works out! Any other Philly bloggers or readers who want to meet up afterwards, please comment below or email me. I can only expect the event to be emotional and uplifting. There are going to be many brain cancer survivors running in the race, as well as families who’ve lost loved ones. A full race recap will be up on Monday.
I can’t wait to hear about how the race went!!! I love the playlist. Last winter when I was training I would put the lady gaga album on repeat every time I worked out.
the race itself was great. my nike plus that i’d be training with was extremely off and my ipod froze half way through & made me very depressed post-race. finished in 30:20. i’ll do a full recap post on monday!
aww i’ll be away this weekend otherwise i would’ve loved to meet up! good luck on your first race 😀
i’m obsessed with the music i run to. my favorites are panic at the disco and the killers… and a million other single songs. i’m weird in the way that i rarely like more than a couple songs by artists (except owl city duh) and i am a super control freak w. my ipod when running, always having to select a new song manually, repeat it etc. life is so hard lol 😛
Yay meetups! 🙂 I have to get a playlist together myself. It’ll be a lot of obscure stuff not many people know because I’m a weirdo like that. Can’t wait for Sunday!
yah, you gotta have some tunes playing! i felt strange posting some of those songs on my blog. haha ying yang twins were cool in high school.
I have some TERRIBLE music in my collection, but I have no shame. Haha! Whatever keeps you running, right?
Nicole, I wish you the best of luck! I know you are going to kick butt 🙂 I’ll be thinking of you on Sunday. I look forward to reading all about it.
Thanks Marla! You’re so sweet
