Thank you for all the tips in my post about how to keep running without breaks.  I think I was probably running a bit too fast and burning out too fast.  Although my time yesterday was slower than Tuesday’s run of 19:13, I didn’t have to stop!  I always just hop off the treadmill while it’s still running when I take a breather, so that is why the time on Tuesday was a bit faster.  The treadmill just kept on tracking mileage.

Although running 2 mi in almost 20 minutes is super easy for some people, I was dripping with sweat afterwards.  I’m hoping that once I keep adding more mileage to my non-stop runs, it will get easier.

My goals for the next few days:

  • Thursday:  2mi run (non-stop)
  • Friday: 2mi run (non-stop)
  • Saturday: 3mi run (non-stop)
  • Sunday: 3mi run (non-stop)

I’m hoping that by the end of Sunday, my endurance will increase.   Tacking on even just a little mileage to my usual run can hopefully improve my endurance and make the normal distance seem easier to manage.

Next week I’ll be focusing on HIIT (high intensity interval training).  More on that in another post.

Although I’m not running high mileage yet, there’s still reason to recover.  One of my favorite ways to restore my muscles, other than Mr. Foam Roller, is by wearing compression socks to bed.

don't mind my awkward hand... i was waiting for nail polish to dry

I have two pairs of the “Marathon” sock from Pro Compression that I absolutely love.   They have a lightweight and nonslip design and aren’t too high or low.  They hit me right at the base of my knee.  Pure perfection.

Pro Compression just launched their new color “Marathon” sock…. ORANGE!

They are even offering a 40% off coupon code + free shipping to order these babies:  SOM610.
This code expires July 10, 2012 and quantities are limited.

How do you like to recover from your runs?
Have you ever tried compression socks?  If so, when do you wear yours?  During runs/after?
