Good morning everyone. Although I absolutely adore going to my Wednesday morning hot yoga class every week, I also love to continue my practice at home. I know what you’re thinking… oh another yoga dvd review. NOPE. This time I found a winner. If you’re anything like me, you buy yoga dvd’s and either get bored with them or never use them at all because they aren’t around when you want them to be.
I found a solution.
Reflexion Yoga is a website with TONS of yoga videos. However it’s different than most. First off, I absolutely love how they switch up the instructor and the student. There’s nothing more annoying when watching a yoga video when the instructor is the same throughout each clip. What if I don’t like that instructor?! The videos are designed with a one-on-one focus – one instructor with one student in each video. I love this because I hate when I watch a yoga video and there are too many people on the screen. It’s sometimes difficult to focus on which student I should be looking at. With Reflexion Yoga, you don’t have to worry about that. It’s all about individualized attention!
Another great thing about Reflexion Yoga is that you can watch the videos anywhere, anytime (as long as you’re connected to the internet). No more fumbling around for a yoga dvd. All you need to do is register and then login.
Once you register, you’ll have access to their entire library of videos. The videos are categorized to make finding your favorite video easy. The videos are filtered by:
- Instructor: choose from several instructors with unique teaching styles
- Difficulty: choose from beginner, intermediate, and workshop yoga classes
- Length: choose from 60-minute, 30-minute, and less than 30-minute classes
My Experience
When I sat down to do my first yoga video, I scanned through my options and two caught my eye. I knew that since I hadn’t done yoga in a while (I tried these out before going to my weekly morning yoga classes), so I was excited to get started! My first video was a 30 minute flow series. I totally blanked on writing this one down, because I honestly wasn’t sure if I would like it. I ended up LOVING it and doing it two more days in a row.
My video for day two was the Power Yoga- Full Body Flow with Hilary for day one. Lastly, my video for day three was the Power Yoga- Mental Focus with Danny.
I can’t say enough about how awesome this website is. I loved how the instructors made references to movies and songs when instructing. It was lighthearted, fun and made me smile while I was practicing. Who doesn’t love to smile?! I’m pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the videos. I love how the instructor points out areas of improvement in the students and gives them slight corrections throughout the video if they need it. It shows that the students are actually students and not teachers in disguise… like I swear some yoga dvds do.
