Yesterday afternoon I went for my first run since I had my wisdom teeth removed. I figured it probably wasn’t the best to be running with a bunch of stitches in my mouth and medication in my blood. The run was amazing actually. I decided to try out my new Nike+ chip for my sneakers and run with my iPod nano. I was running with my iPhone for a while, but couldn’t find a reliable arm band for it. Plus, I didn’t want to drop my phone, have it shatter into 1000 pieces, and not have a working cell phone. I ran 5K in 27:39 which was my longest and fastest run yet.

Today’s run was a bit tougher for some reason. Not sure why. I had the same breakfast as yesterday and even had some PowerBar Energy Gels before leaving. Either way, I finished another 5K in under 30 minutes. WOO! Here’s the stats for today’s run.

I’ve been warming up recently with this warmup from Runner’s World. Lot’s of good hip opening exercises! I hope to continue running everyday this week as I train for the Race for Hope 5K run next weekend.
Last night I rewarded myself for my run by having one of my favorite ice cream sandwiches. Delicious.
Anyone else training for a race soon?
What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?
