I like having delicious, but light, food options anytime we have friends over – whether it’s for game day, girls night, or just a random Saturday. I don’t like spending hours in the kitchen prepping, so I stick to what I know. It’s usually a cheese or crudité platter and crostini.
Crostini, oh crostini. How I love you. I’m a huge fan because you can top toasted baguette with just about anything and it would be yummy. I’ve tried a bunch of variations, but today I’m sharing with you my all-time favorite – jam, pear and goat cheese.
I’ve always just used whatever jam I had in my fridge, but I recently had the opportunity to try Welch’s Chia Strawberry Fruit Spread and I’m hooked. You read that correct. Chia. With more than 700 chia seeds in each serving, Welch’s new spreads are a simple way to incorporate chia into your diet {and we all know how much I love chia seeds}.
I’m personally a huge fan of the strawberry spread, but they make a concord grape flavor too. They’re made with REAL sugar and are non-GMO. They have no fake colors, preservatives, artificial sweeteners or high fructose corn syrup.
I bought my jar of Welsh’s Chia Strawberry Fruit Spread from Giant, but you can also find it at Walmart, Kroger, Publix, Shoprite and more.
Here’s how you make the recipe:
- Baguette, sliced crosswise into 1/2 inch thick slices
- Welch’s Chia Strawberry Fruit Spread
- Pear, cut into bite sized squares
- Goat cheese
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Place sliced baguette on a baking sheet and bake for 7-8 minutes or until bread is lightly toasted.
- Remove from oven and top with fruit spread, pear and goat cheese.
- Serve immediately.
I love cheese and fruit together. This is a perfect combination!
