Good morning, readers. I had a pretty good weekend. What about yourselves? Since I took a lot of photos this weekend, lets get right to it.
First off I just want to say that the weather was abnormally warm on Saturday. It was just 0 degrees a few days ago! However, I’m totally not complaining.
On Saturday morning, I picked up our mail and saw that our Entertainment Weekly came in. Even better – there was an article about Gone Girl the movie. I read the book a few months ago and it’s probably one of my all time favorites. I’m so excited for the movie to come out.
In the afternoon, I had to go to the mall to return a damaged J.Crew blouse I bought last month. I wore it one time and a button fell off. BLEH! Thankfully they returned it without a problem. While at the mall, Bryan and I also ordered our wedding rings! No photos of those for the blog though.
Around dinner time on Saturday, we drove to pick up Bryan’s grandmother from her Bridge Tournament. Afterwards, she took us out to dinner at this really fantastic restaurant in Northeast Philly called Il Polpo. If you live in the Philadelphia area you MUST check this place out. They had homemade wheat bread that was to die for that came with a side of homemade tomato sauce and balsamic puree. I didn’t take any pictures of my appetizer, but it was a thin crusted pizza with goat cheese, arugula, and truffle oil. I’ve tasted nothing like it before! Bryan really enjoyed it as well.
For my entrée I chose the salmon which was served with organic lentils, black kalamata puree, roasted pinenuts and a sun dried tomato vinaigrette. Mmm, it was delicious.
For dessert I got the tiramisu, but was shocked at how big it was! I haven’t had tiramisu in years so I was thrilled that they had it on the menu. It definitely didn’t disappoint. I could only eat half of it, but Bryan’s grandmother tried it and she liked it too! She normally doesn’t like tiramisu but she said this one was pretty good.
On Sunday, I didn’t even get out of my PJs. Not even lying. I did a lot of wedding planning stuff on Sunday, watched Once Upon a Time on Netflix and that’s about it.
Talk to Me
- What did you do this weekend?
- What are your goals for this week?
- What’s the last new restaurant you’ve tried?
Sounds like a nice weekend! This may be silly, I felt relief for your story of returning your blouse lol. I’m always nervous when I go to make a return, and it feels SO good when the process goes through with no hassles. Do you feel the same?
Looks like you got a lot done!! Love that Tiffany Blue binder, super pretty color :). I got some food prep in for the week, and really just got all my stuff together for school, other than that I watched football all weekend. I loved it!
