This was a pretty good weekend. I was able to sleep in both Saturday and Sunday without any alarms blaring. Does anyone else hate waking up to alarms? It just ruins my mornings.
Friday
After work on Friday, Bryan and I drove out to Trade Joes to pick up a few things. One being an 8 lb bag of oranges! Yep. 19 oranges for only $5! I was super excited, because as you know from my Friday Favorites… I’ve been loving oranges lately.
After Trader Joes, we came home and watched more Revenge. We’re finally on season 2 and the plot thickens.
Saturday
Saturday was a pretty relaxing day. We slept in until about 8:30 or 9AM and watched TV for a while. In the afternoon we went to Ikea to check out some furniture pieces we need for our new apartment. We’ve made a list of the things we need, but the big items are: a bedroom dresser, a dining room table and chairs, and curtains.
That is the dresser than we’ re getting. It’s only around $139 from IKEA and it gets the job done. We don’t need anything super fancy. I just wanted it to be white to match our current end tables, and high enough to hold our TV on.
As far as dining room table and chairs, IKEA didn’t have anything that spectacular. I’ve found that some of the cheaper IKEA items look more expensive than others. In terms of their dining selection, it wasn’t great. We’ll probably have to look at other furniture stores to find those pieces.
Once we got back from IKEA we were starving! I decided to use up the avocado that I bought at Trader Joes from Friday. I made sure it was ripe when I bought it, because I knew I’d be eating it during the weekend. I chopped up half the avocado and mixed it with some organic cherry tomatoes. Delicious!
*TIP: if you want to save the other portion of an avocado, save the half with the pit inside, put it in a ziplock bag and place in the refrigerator. I did this on Saturday and had a perfectly fine other half of avocado for Sunday.
Bryan went out to West Chester Saturday night, so I had the night to lay in bed, watch some trashy TV, watch Youtube videos and do some research on new recipes. We didn’t end up going to bed until almost 2:30AM because Bryan was out late. I haven’t seen 2:30AM in a LONG LONG time.
Sunday
Sunday was the Super Bowl, but that didn’t really dictate our plans because we aren’t sports people. In the earlier portion of the day Bryan and I went to the mall so I could pick up new makeup. You know by now that the makeup I was using was most likely the cause of my skin problems recently. I decided to visit the Clinique counter because much of their stuff is for sensitive skin. I also stopped by the Bobbi Brown counter at Nordstrom for the under eye corrector and concealer.
I found out from both the Clinique and Bobbi Brown sales reps that I have very dehydrated skin. Looks like I need to start drinking more water- no shocker there.
Here’s what I got:
- Clinique Even Better foundation
- Clinique Line Smoothing concealer
- Bobbi Brown corrector
- Bobbi Brown concealer and setting powder duo
- A sample of the Bobbi Brown moisturizer for under my eyes
Talk to Me
- Did you go shopping this weekend? If so, what did you buy?
- What’s your favorite brand of make up?
- I’m trying to integrate more natural and organic products into my daily life. Any suggestions?
I love Clinique makeup! My grandma has been using it forever so I have a sentimental attachment to it! Besides that, I think their products are great and a wonderful quality!
No shopping for me this weekend, unless you count a Target run for detergent and Luna Bars. I’m a big fan of Clinque products. I have some skin sensitivity issues so for me, the extra money is worth it to have products that don’t bother me.
i didn’t go shopping, but i wish i did lol, love trader joe’s for their awesome prices! i don’t really wear makeup, i only just wear eye makeup, only because if i did wear anything else i know my face would breakout! i was hoping you knew of some lol
