Weekend Recap (2/8- 2/10)

Good morning!  It’s Monday, but that’s OK.  I’m looking forward to this week, because I’m going to experiment with lots of different JUICES!  Yep, we bought a juicer on Friday!  I’m hoping I’ll be able to get out to Trader Joes this week after work, so I can buy more 8lb bags of oranges for $5!

Friday

I made the first juice on Friday night after work, but it was a bit too sour because I added too many lemons.  (Note to self – only juice half a lemon. Two lemons was overkill.)

Friday night after making my juice, I drove in the snow to Staples.  Luckily, Staples isn’t too far and the roads were fine.  I picked up a binder and plastic insert envelopes to organize all of our warrantee booklets.  Turns out, I need a larger binder, so I will probably be back at Staples this week.  I’m trying to purge anything that isn’t needed any more before we move.  Nothing is more frustrating than moving a bunch of crap to a new place!

I was in bed by 10PM on Friday night.  After being sick for the majority of the week, my body needed rest.

Saturday

Saturday morning started with more juice!  Bry and I used the rest of our oranges to make homemade orange juice.  Let’s just say I don’t think I’ll ever be able to drink the carton juice ever again.  It was delicious!  If you’re wondering, about 6 oranges makes two large glasses of juice.

After breakfast, we went to Bryan’s parent’s house for dinner.  We went to a place nearby that has great seafood.  I typically get the mahi picatta, but I was pretty full already from eating too much spinach dip that I ended up getting an apple, walnut and goat cheese salad.  It was delish!

IDK about your area, but it was bitter cold and windy in the Philadelphia area on Saturday- almost unbearable.  Much of the snow we got on Friday melted, but the wind was crazy.

Sunday

On Sunday morning, my alarm went off at 9AM.  We had a wedding venue tour at another place in the Delaware Valley.  This time I was almost 100% positive I would love the venue.  It’s not that I hated the venue, I just didn’t think it was right for us.  The rain alternative wasn’t that great.  We’d be stuck inside the mansion.  I know it sounds super luxurious, and it is… except that the mansion is form the early 1900s and felt like a grandmother’s house.  It just wasn’t modern enough for us.  If we were the type of couple that liked antiques and Victorian carpets, that would have been fine.  I was super bummed after we left, because the outdoor space was super pretty.  I just can’t live with spending so much money for a site fee with the off chance that we’d be stuck inside if it rained.

After the tour, we stopped at the mall.  I went into Gap to use a coupon I had.  I picked out the most amazing sweater.  It was light enough that I could wear it all year round.  Unfortunately, they didn’t have my size and no stores in the area had it in stock, and neither did the online store.  Looks like I’ll have to wait.

At this point, I was just itching to go home.  The venue didn’t work, the mall didn’t have my sweater and all I wanted to do was take a nap.  And that is exactly what I did.  When we got home, we watched TV for a little bit.

The show we’ve been watching is called Undeclared.  It’s an old series from the 90’s and has Charlie Hunnam in it.  You know… Jax from Sons of Anarchy!  It also has Seth Rogan!

After watching an episode and a half, we decided that a nap was in order.  I LOVE Sunday afternoon naps.  I think I may make them mandatory in our household.

Sunday night, I did what many people did… watched the Grammys!

Ugh, sorry to hear no success on the wedding venue search! So many people seem to be into juicing these days! haha My sister has a juicer but I’m pretty sure she never uses it so I should see if I could snag it!

Yeh, I fully hopped on the juicing bandwagon, but it’s OK. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I’m going to do a post coming up regarding the juicer I got and why I chose it.

Fresh squeezed orange juice is the best! The store version doesn’t compare. You didn’t happen to be looking at Shawnee Inn on the Delaware were you? That’s where my sister got married! She lucked out and had perfect weather, it was so beautiful outside.

No we looked at Greystone Hall in WC.

Sounds like a great weekend! My husband and I were supposed to get some packing done ourselves, and we didn’t get far at all. How funny you bought a Breville and organized your warranties in the same weekend. We bought our juicer about a month ago, and when I went to put the warranty booklet in the junk drawer, I decided we needed to organize them better. I went out and bought a binder to keep them in. Too funny. Fresh juiced oranges is our favorite out of all the juice combinations there are. Simple and delicious. 🙂 Pineapple orange also tastes AMAZING! The carton stuff just doesn’t cut it any more.

ooo pineapple orange sounds amazing! I usually go for more veggie based drinks, but I may have to give this one a try 🙂
