Wow, it’s Monday again. I wish I could say that I’m well rested and ready to take on this week, but I’m not. I could definitely use a few more hours of sleep this morning. However, I have a lot going on and that’s just not feasible right now.
This weekend was pretty great. Bryan and I had a relaxing but fun-filled weekend for sure. Here’s a look at my weekend recap!
Saturday
On Saturday morning, Bryan and I went food shopping. On Friday I told you that I’m going to try to meal prep this weekend and only buy things that I know I’m going to use. Well, I did it! On Saturday morning, I sat down with my cookbooks and developed dinners for the week and make a grocery list based on what I needed for those recipes.
No, I won’t be having ‘hair with eggs’ on Thursday. It actually reads ‘Angel hair with eggs’.
Once we finished grocery shopping, I got ready for my friend Leslee’s birthday dinner. It was a surprise, which is why I didn’t write about it sooner on the blog. You actually probably know Leslee. She has a blog too – Her Happy Balance. It’s so great when an in-person/real life friend joins the blog world. Although our men might have to differ, because it’s 90% of what we talk about when we’re together!
My outfit for the night:
top – Vera Wang for Kohl’s (super old!) // shorts – the Limited // bag – JCrew
top bangle – vintage // bottom bracelet – CCSkye
We all met at this place in Northern Liberties called The Blind Pig. I’d never been there, but it was pretty awesome. Such a unique restaurant/bar. It was the first and only restaurant that I’ve been to that had mason jars as cups, and check out these menus!
The majority of the table ordered the oyster sandwich, but I went with the broiled salmon with bok choy and wasabi mashed potatoes. OMG it was delicious! The potatoes definitely cleared my sinuses, but boy were they good.
And of course at dinner, we took a bunch of photos. Sometimes I’m a good blogger
After dinner, Bry and I came home and went right to sleep! We were exhausted. Luckily, we didn’t hit any traffic coming home, so it took us only a fraction of the time it normally would have to drive home that night. Going down to the city we weren’t so lucky.
Sunday
On Sunday morning, Bryan made me breakfast in bed and we watched Home Alone 2 on TV. It was a bit strange to be watching that movie in the middle of the summer, because I think I’ve only ever seen it during the holidays. But we both love it and enjoyed just having a relaxing morning.
In the afternoon, we ran a few errands (finally got a planner for my home office – more about that on Wednesday) and drove over to Bryan’s parents’ house for an early dinner. We were in the mood to BBQ and so was his sister, so we all met there and spent some time in the sun for a few hours. I sat by the pool for a little bit, but it was so humid outside that I eventually made my way up to the deck and sat under the umbrella instead.
Bryan’s grandmom gave Bryan a hat from a Bridge tournament she attended and I fell in love with it (sorry Bry!). I wore it all day yesterday while I was out in the sun. I love how there is a cartoon fish on it. It’s quirky!
After dinner, we headed home and watched my favorite shows – Big Brother and The Killing! It was a pretty awesome way to end our weekend. Gosh I love those shows!
Talk to Me
- What did you do this weekend?
- Do you have any random hats? What types of hats do you like wearing in the sun?
- Have you tried any unique restaurants lately? If so what are they called?
Ah! I didn’t know you were a Big Brother fan!!!
No random hats for me, I actually don’t wear any hats when I’m in the sun, I probably should though. Sounds like a great weekend 🙂 Mine was relaxing, but I felt like I got a lot done, which is nice
