This weekend wasn’t too shabby. It wasn’t nearly as warm as last weekend, so that meant no poolside time. Bry and I did get to check out a few fairs and have an outside dinner at his parents’ house. Here’s a recap of my weekend.
Friday:
After work on Friday I met up with a woman named Ren. We are planning a NEDA (national eating disorder association) walk next spring. We met to go over preliminary planning steps, such as picking a location and rough estimate on date. I can’t wait to start really moving with getting everything underway, finding sponsors, and promoting the event! We are the only two people planning the Philadelphia walk, so I’m sure it will be a lot to handle, but I’m willing to take on the challenge!
Saturday:
Saturday morning, Bry and I drove to a local gardening center so he could donate blood to the Red Cross. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m anemic and my red blood cells are too low for donation. Basically, the Red Cross can’t take my blood. While Bryan was giving blood, I chatted with the nice ladies from the gardening center and was offered some water and donuts! I was so nervous for Bryan. I was sitting not too far from him and could see all the blood. He’s been giving blood since high school and wasn’t anxious at all. I’m a sissy.
After giving blood, we drove out to the MainLine to check out a farmer’s market and to grab some french macarons. I’ve been on a hunt for these for so long. I was happy that I finally found a bakery that sells them.
To our luck, there was a Jazz and Food festival happening! We obviously stopped by and walked around to view the vendors. My favorite was a pizza company called Jules. Their pizza toppings come from local growers and everything is organic! On our way home, we stopped at the Starbucks near our house, because I was really craving a soy cappuccino! Starbucks makes the best.
Once we got back home, we were both exhausted and knew a nap was in order. Two hours later, we woke up and drove over to a local fair for a few minutes. Originally, I wanted to check out some local companies who had tables at the fair, but by the time we got there they were all gone.
Sunday:
Sunday morning, we went to Manhattan Bagel for a free dozen bagels! I received a coupon in the mail a few days ago! We got a lot of different kinds: blueberry, everything, rye, cinnamon raisin and more. After eating a bagel and watching an hour of TV, I put on my gym clothes and walked over to the gym. It was nice out today, so I could have ran outside, but I was in the mood for some treadmill running.
I did 4mi in 38:50. Not too great, but I’m glad I put in the effort for a long run. I got to really work on these goals this month. I ran the first mile. Stopped to stretch, then ran the last 3. I did have to stop a few times to walk, but overall it wasn’t too bad. I hope to get my longer runs in on Saturdays or Sundays.
Later on in the day, we went to Whole Foods for a beer tasting. I usually just stick to Corona Light or Bud Light Lime, but Bryan was pretty stoked. It started to rain a little bit as we were leaving for Bryan’s parent’s house for an outdoor dinner. Dinner was great. The rain held out until the very end. I had Brussels sprouts for the first time in my life (shocking I know!), grilled shrimp, corn on the cob, and a slice of French baguette. DELISH. On the way home, rain hit hard.
What did you do this weekend?
Did it rain really bad in your area?
The weather this weekend was so on & off! Last night it was raining pretty hard, but the sun was still out!
Looks like you had a great weekend!
