So, you are heading for a fun trip to the beach, whether it be with your family or friends, you need to have these 8 beach bag essentials!

1. Sunscreen
Sunscreen is by far the most important item you can toss into your beach bag. Prevent aging by applying a sunscreen of spf 35+

2. H2O
You must stay hydrated while vacationing at the beach. Carry a BPA free water bottle and drink at least 64 oz of water per day to reduce the risk of dehydration. I own the one below, but in green.

$10.99 (Sears)
3. Something to keep you busy
Whether you like to tan and lounge on the beach, or be more active, bring items to keep you occupied. My favs are magazines, novels, my cell (to get twitter updates!) and my ipod.
4. Camera
Carry a camera with you in order to remember your trip and to take lots of pretty ocean photos. Be careful with the sand though– I’ve learned the hard way, cameras and sand don’t mix. Buy yourself a cute case for your camera to avoid cracked lenses. I have the style below, in purple.
$14.99 (Target)
5. Makeup Bag
I don’t see the point in carrying your entire makeup collection with you to the beach.  Some items I can’t walk out the door without are: mascara, deodorant, body spray and chapstick with spf.
6. Towels
I always try to bring two towels with me to the beach. One to lay out on, and one to use if I decide to ventue out into the water for drying off purposes.
7. Heat Protectant
Spritz your locks with a heat protectant, the same way you would if you were using a blow dryer or straightener, in order to lessen the risk of damage. My favorite is below.

   $3.99 (Overstock Drugstore)
8. Sunglasses
Sunglasses are my favorite summer accessory. They are fun and simple. Aviators are my look of choice, but there are dozens of cute styles to chose from. I love big ones that cover my eyes and eyebrows.
FTC: I am not being paid by any of the above companies.
