amazon Buys Jan-Feb 2021

My Amazon purchases over the last couple of months have been all over the place. But I feel like that’s normal. No? I’ve been buying a lot of decor pieces to mix in with the vintage finds I’ve purchased from Etsy, so you’ll see a lot of home stuff this time around. I also finally bought a ring light/tripod which has been a game changer for shooting content. Ok, let’s hop into the list.

1. Matte Black Wick Trimmer – This was such a useful purchase last month. If you burn candles a lot and don’t own a wick trimmer, you need this. Wick trimmers help prevent soot buildup and lengthens the life of your candle by controlling the burn. I trim the wick before every use so my candles burn evenly. Scissors work just as well, I like how pretty this looks sitting out.

2. Toddler Fishing Bath Toys – Bath time is one of Vienna’s favorite times of the day. We bought her this fishing toy and she loves it! The little ducks have a shapes and numbers printed on them, so it teaches counting, shapes and colors, while improving fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

3. L’Oreal Brow Stylist Boost – I’ve been using this brow gel for years. Maybe I should try something else? It works well, so I keep repurchasing. My brows are a lighter ash brown shade, so I use this product to help add some color and dimension to my face.

4. Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Oil – My hair is a bit dry and brittle on the ends from coloring it. After watching too many Youtube reviews, I ended up buying this bonding oil from Olaplex. I’ve tried a few of their products and they never disappoint. I use the oil on wet hair before blow drying or on dry hair after I style it to provide extra shine. It’s really lightweight and doesn’t leave my hair greasy.

5. Acacia Wood Serving Board – This is technically a serving piece for entertaining, but I originally purchased it for our coffee bar. Unfortunately, it took up too much room on the counter. I moved it to our glass shelving unit in the living room and it looks so much better there as a piece of decor.

6. Glass Bitters Bottle #1 and #2– I found these bitters bottles and knew they’d be perfect to hold caramel and vanilla syrups for coffee. The designs on the glass are beautiful and they are such great quality for the price.

7. “The Book of Joy” – I’m so happy to get back into reading and this book is great. It’s about what happens when the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu get together to discuss their lives. Despite all their hardships, they are incredibly joyful. The book is a must-read during this pandemic and really puts things into perspective. I’m not finished it yet, but so far I love it.

8. Bamboo Dish Brush – We got rid of our kitchen sponges months ago and switched to brushes. I’ve never been happier washing the dishes. This one sits in a ceramic holder next to the sink and it looks so much nicer than a sponge.

9. Wooden Beads – I really enjoy this style of home decor and wooden beads can be pricey depending on where you buy them. This set from Amazon is under $15 and is actually wonderful quality. I keep them in a bowl in the foyer but they would look perfect wrapped around any type of vessel.

10. OXO Wooden Utensil Set – Wooden utensils are a must-have for me. I prefer cooking with them over plastic any day. This set from OXO has held up great so far and honestly is just as nice as my expensive wooden spoon from Williams Sonoma.

11. Tortoise Claw Clip – Nothing spectacular to say about this, but it’s a pretty tortoise clip and it holds up my thin hair. If you have thicker hair, I would recommend something larger.

12. Ring Light & Tripod – Probably my most used purchase so far this year has been this ring light and tripod. If you create content or just like shooting your own Instagram posts, you need this. Even if I’m not carrying around the tripod, I use the bluetooth remote all the time. Highly recommend!
