Fashion’s Night Out 2012

September 6, 2012

I’m really not getting enough sleep this week.  No matter how early I go to bed, I still wake up completely exhausted.  Today I woke up and decided to wait until tomorrow to do my 3 mi run.  I have Fashion’s Night Out tonight so I won’t be able to get my run in after work.

Fashion’s Night Out is such a fun night!  I went the last two years to the King of Prussia event and had a great time looking at the newest fall fashion and getting amazing discounts.

If you’re anywhere near King of Prussia, PA, I suggest you come to the mall tonight and check it out!  Tonight’s a perfect time to pick up that jacket or heels you’ve had your eyes on.  More than 50 retailers will be offering trunk shows, makeovers, giveaways and entertainment during the night.  Bryan’s even coming with me, because he enjoys the free food samples!  photo(35)

Day 10

Yesterday was day 10 of my .  I didn’t get much sleep on Tuesday night, so running in the morning didn’t happen.  I went to the gym after work with Bryan and did my 3 mi on the treadmill.  As you can see in Bryan’s photo of me below, the sun was starting to set as I was finishing up my run… causing the sun to be directly on my face.

I’m having shoulder and neck pain still, no matter how much I press my shoulders down to relax them.  I might have to start foam rolling every night and see if the pain goes down.  It’s unfortunate because on some runs my legs will take me for miles, but my shoulders and neck start to burn!

I used to have the same kind of pain that you are experiencing in your shoulders too, and still sometimes do. My massuese told me to keep pressing my shoulders down like you’re doing and I’ve noticed a huge difference. Maybe get a massage and then keep pressing down?

Sometimes I think the pain comes from a not supportive enough pillow, but then hard ones are too hard, then it’s hard not to feel like the Goldilocks of pillows!

Hi April. Yeah, maybe if I just keep pressing down and eventually it will fix itself. Do you foam roll?

I’ve never though to foam roll my shoulders, but if you do.. let me know how it works :). Great job on completing your required 3 miles girl.

Thanks Jessie! I’m gonna try to foam roll and maybe do a post about it and my fav ways to do it.

You might be able to spot treat a little better with a rolling pin or baseball/lacrosse ball on your shoulders.
I don’t even know if they have fashion nights like that where I live. Hope you enjoy yourself tonight! Can’t wait to read the recap!! 🙂

Chelsie, you’re right! a more targeted item might work better. i’ll have to try it out!

I’ve never foam rolled my shoulders but it sounds like a good idea. I get really tense in that area when I run and even just in everyday activity– I am constantly reminding myself to relax my shoulders.
Have fun tonight!

I also think it has to do with how I sit at work at my computer. I really do need to work on my posture!

I am excited for our FNO in Savannah. Ours is outside and its still warm, so dressing for it can be tricky!! Happy FNO!!

Yeah, it was really warm out tonight here as well. Felt kind of weird to look at fall fashion when a lot of people at the mall were still in shorts and flip flops!
