Four Days to Go

The Philadelphia Marathon is in four days!  I can’t believe its almost here.  It seems like just yesterday that I registered.  I wrote about it on Twitter yesterday because I just couldn’t believe it was right around the corner.

Wednesday

First off, I just wanted to say thank you for all of you who have been supporting me both on my blog and on Twitter by sending me positive thoughts as I went through this crazy journey to finally get to Sunday.

I’ll be spending the next few days covering topics that have led up to my half marathon (nutrition, training, and running gear).  There’s so many things that went into the past few months, and even more since I registered on April 1st.

There are so many things I want to cover because I know there are many of you out there (and probably more I don’t know about) that want to run half marathons but have never run a day in their lives.  Don’t worry!  I started running August of 2011 and here I am a year later running a half marathon.

The Philadelphia Marathon slogan this year is “Redefine Possible”.  You were probably wondering what that was in my tweets lately.  I use the hashtag #RedefinePossible when talking about the half marathon, so I can read other peoples tweets as well.  It’s pretty great.

What I want to do is put up a FAQ post next week to go over any questions you have regarding my training for the half.  Comment below and start posting your comments!

Woohoo! Can’t wait to hear how it goes!

I can’t believe its coming up so soon. time flies!

Your half marathon is so close!! Exciting! I remember when I was tapering for my half, and I couldn’t believe that I would be running 13.1 miles. You will do great! Can’t wait to read about it! 🙂

Yeah I hope I can do it! The farthest I’ve gone in my training was 10 miles.

I used Hal Higdon’s novice 1 plan and my longest run was 10 miles & the last few miles will mostly be mental. I wish i would have used a gel in my later miles because I hit a wall, but just keeping telling yourself you can do & you’ll finish 🙂

Sending you the best of luck on race day and the most positive running energy in the entire universe. Enjoy the day, embrace the experience and love every mile of it. Except for that last .1 miles, sprint the hell out of it cross the finish line with arms held high.

yay! I can’t wait to hear how the half goes! (:

I’m so excited for you. My first and only half was at Disney:-)
Tutu and all…
