mother's day 2019 gift guide

Mother’s Day is right around the corner. I swear, it creeps up on me every year. One day it’s Christmas and the next it’s May! Don’t worry though, I’ve put together the best Mother’s Day gift guide. This guide is going to be a little different from the ones you’ve seen on other blogs or sites. Because let’s be honest, they all have the same boring candle or “mama” ring! Who knows if these items are worth it or not.

Instead, I’m pulling together every item I use regularly that makes my life as a mom so much easier. These are things that I can’t live without. So if your significant other asks you, “What do you want for Mother’s Day this year,” send along this post!

1. Yeti Mug: You’ve probably seen this on my IG Stories about a billion times. I’m mentioning it here because if you don’t have one, you are really missing out. Bryan bought me the light blue version for my birthday last year and I’ve used it every day since. It keeps my coffee HOT for hours, which is key when you have a toddler to look after. It’s also great for when you get pulled into a morning meeting and forget your coffee. When you get back to your desk, it’s still hot! (I’ve done this way too many times).

2. Circle Key Chain: I saw one of these key chains on a coworker’s desk, so I had to ask her what it was all about. It’s basically a huge circle that you can wear as a bracelet instead of having to hold your keys in your hand. I wasn’t sure if I actually needed one, since I loved my old poof key chain. But I quickly learned that it’s an absolute necessity when I’m juggling Vienna, multiple bags, etc. every day. You moms can relate, right?!

3. Aerie Sweatshirts: Can I just say that Aerie is my new favorite store for lounge wear?! They have the softest sweatshirts. I bought a raw hem version in the fall and wore it to death, so I knew I had to get a few lightweight versions for summer.

4. Maya Brenner Initial Necklace: Bryan bought me this necklace after I had Vienna and I never take it off. I have it in the gold version with 2 initials – a “B” and a “V.” I’ve gotten so many compliments and would highly recommend it as a gift. I love that you can customize this piece with multiple initials and gemstones. When we have a second baby, I plan to send the necklace back to Maya Brenner and have them add a 3rd letter.

5. Barefoot Dreams Robe: After hearing people rave about this robe, I asked for it for Christmas a few years ago. It’s a bit pricey, but I wear it all the time. If I’m hanging around at home, there’s a good chance I’m wearing it. It has held up great through many washes!

6. Ugg Slippers: I buy a new pair of Ugg slippers at least once a year because I wear them to death. Seriously, you won’t catch me at home without them. If it was socially acceptable, I’d wear them everywhere. If you don’t have a pair, definitely remind your hubby to get you some.

7. Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer: I’ve tried a few concealers over the years, and I keep buying Bye Bye Under Eye by IT Cosmetics. It doesn’t crease and you’ll look like you got 8+ hours of sleep even if you didn’t! In case you’re wondering, I use shade 10.5 light. Go for a shade or two lighter than your foundation to really make your under eye area pop.

8. Apple Watch: As a busy working mom, I rely so much on my Apple Watch. It syncs with notifications on my iPhone, so whenever our Nest doorbell detects motion or I get a new text message, my Watch vibrates.

9. Steamer: Okay, so this is a weird gift for Mother’s Day… but hear me out. I bought this exact steamer a few weeks ago and it’s one of my favorite purchases so far this year. It’s really lightweight and steams my tops for work insanely fast. Trust me. If you have a lot of blouses, ditch your iron and buy a steamer. I wish I did it years ago.
