Believe it or not, May is next week and this year is flying by. But we say that every year. Am I right?!
Typically, May is a bittersweet month for me. Although there are happy moments like my wedding anniversary on May 2, there’s lots more sad ones as well. The anniversary of my mom’s death is May 9 and Mother’s Day has since been a reminder of that loss. This year however, I have a LOT to be thankful for. The most obvious is Vienna of course.
I know many of you are also celebrating your first Mother’s Day this year. Today, I’m sharing some great gifts that you can give to yourself this year {b/c you know you damn well deserve it} or you can send these links to your significant other as a hint. Haha. Either way, happy shopping!

I bought one for myself in the “light gray/white” color after Christmas and have worn it almost every single day since. It’s become a staple in my postpartum wardrobe. It’s definitely a bit more expensive than I’d normally spend on a robe, but it’s worth it! It’s incredibly soft and I love the long length.

This year, I’m trying really hard to buy nice pjs and stop wearing a random pair of sweats and oversized t-shirt every night. I’ll be honest. I’m in mismatched stuff 90% of the time time. However, when my nice pjs are clean and I put them on after a hot shower… nothing is better. I can’t be the only one, right?! This Mother’s Day, definitely treat yourself to some new pjs.
4. Kris Nations “Mama” Ring: I love understated jewelry so when I saw this “mama” ring on Nordstrom, I knew it was perfect for this gift guide. It comes in silver and gold, and is really affordable.
5. Ray-Ban Erika Sunglasses: If you like Ray-Bans but want a frame that’s a bit more unique than the traditional aviators or Wayfarers, check out these Erika sunglasses. They come in black and brown and would look great on all face shapes.
6. Treasure & Bond Sannibel Wedges: I’m constantly searching for wedges that match with any outfit I decide to throw on. I’ve seen so many bloggers mention these on InstaStories, so I’m finally going to buy them for myself in gray. They are the best summer shoe for date night or for brunch with the girls.
7. Bella Tunno Boss Bag: This bag is at the top of my own wishlist this year. Although I have a diaper bag {a black leather backpack}, I’ve been looking for a more summery option. One that doesn’t look like a diaper bag, please! I’m currently loving this Boss Bag from Bella Tunno, because you could also use it as a work bag. I love the convertible straps that allow you to wear this bag either as a backpack or a cross body tote. That alone makes it a must-have for me. It has tons of inside pockets and even comes with a clutch that you can use separately with or without the included straps.
8. Ugg Bren Slip-on Sneakers: I’m obsessed with my black slip-on Vans and wear them almost every day. They are the definition of “mom shoe” – no laces involved! I’ve been on the hunt for a lighter colored version for summer and am loving these by Ugg.
9. Make + Model Sweatpants: Yep, another comfy item. These sweatpants from Make + Model get rave reviews and are a favorite among many moms. I’ve seen these mentioned in many of my mommy FB groups.
10. Maya Brenner 2 Letter 14K Gold Necklace: Probably the most thoughtful present in this gift guide is this necklace from Maya Brenner. Bryan bought me one as a push present {although there was no pushing involved – thank you c-section}, and I love it so much. I never take it off. I have the yellow gold version with the letters “b” and “v” for Bryan and Vienna, obviously.
11. Slip Silk Pillowcase: Let’s get real. Mamas need their beauty sleep. As a new mom myself, I’ve learned that my most precious time and hobby {aside from hanging out with my little one} is catching up on whatever sleep I can get. Not only does this pillowcase help with anti-aging, but it will make you feel like you’re sleeping in an expensive hotel room every single night.
12. Halogen Long Linen Blend Cardigan: Long cardigans are a working mom’s dream. They’re easy to throw on over any outfit and will keep you warm in a chilly office. I keep a cardigan on the back of my chair for emergencies, but am definitely in need of a new one. I like this one from Halogen, because it comes in a bunch of different colors and is lightweight.
13. Agate Mirror Box: This catch-all box is great for the mom who loves unique home decor. It’s a great place to store your wedding rings, earrings, bangles, and so much more. At just $30, it’s a great gift to give to yourself or a fellow mom friend.
14. GlamGlow Mask Gift Set: If you love pampering yourself at the end of a long day with a face mask, then this gift set is for you. You’ll get six GlamGlow masks that help firm, brighten, hydrate, exfoliate, clear and cleanse your skin. Individually these masks are quite pricey, so this set is a bargain.
15. David Yurman Cable Bracelet: David Yurman is definitely more expensive than other companies, but this bracelet would make a great first Mother’s Day present. You’ll be wearing this bangle for years and can dress it up or down!
16. Wolf Chloe Zip Jewelry Case: This gift is great for the mom on the go. No more tangled necklaces from throwing them in a Ziploc bag and hoping for the best. {Am I the only one who does this?!}
