Hi hi. Let’s get right into today’s post because it’s a fun one. I’m detailing some amazing beauty finds that you’ll want to buy ASAP. Many of these products I’ve owned and loved for years, but a few are new finds for me that I’m stoked to share.
1. Burts Bees Vanilla Bean lip balm
Burt’s Bees Vanilla Bean is my most loved beauty product at the moment, because my lips have been so incredibly dry. I’m not a fan of normal Burt’s Bees (the one that smells like honey), but the vanilla bean one is pretty fantastic. I bought one a few months ago at Target, and since realized that I need them all over my house. I actually ordered this four pack from Amazon, which was more cost effective than buying them individually. As soon as it arrived, I immediately put one in our master bathroom, on my nightstand, in my car, and in my purse to put on my desk at work. Now I’ll have one anytime I need it.
2. Bobbi Brown Blush in “Peony”
Bobbi Brown “Peony” blush isn’t a new favorite of mine, but I’m mentioning it today because it really transforms my everyday look. I’ve been using it almost every day since I first discovered it in 2014. It’s the only blush I own! It looks really bright in the container, but it’s not clown makeup I promise. It stays on for hours and gives my skin a nice pop of color. I love that this blush is paraben-free, sulfate-free, phthalate-free and sulfite-free.
3. OPI Nail Envy
I’ve been a nail biter for as long as I can remember. Maybe it’s an obsession or a way to deal with stress, but I remember biting my nails so low in elementary school that they would bleed. EEK. Since bleeding nails isn’t a good look for a 30 year old, so I’m trying my best starting today to grow them out. Whenever I want to grow and strengthen my nails I use OPI’s Nail Envy. I’ve been using this on and off for years. It’s a clear polish that has calcium and protein to make nails harder, longer and stronger. It can be used as a stand-alone treatment or as a base coat under colored polish. I love that it dries really quickly so I can apply it right before I head to work or before bed. Don’t take my word for it though – it has over 2,700 positive reviews on Amazon!
4. CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser
I started a new acne treatment earlier this month (I’ll share more if I find it effective). With this product, I’m not supposed to use anything with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. I’d been using the Burt’s Bees Acne Wash which has salicylic acid, so I had to find a new cleanser ASAP. I needed something that was gentle and super hydrating since the acne treatment would likely dry out my skin. I did a ton of Googling and landed on CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser. It doesn’t have the best ingredients, but it’s working well for me at the moment. I’ve been using it for the past few weeks and it’s definitely hydrating! My skin feels so soft in the mornings, even before I slather on my moisturizer.
5. Kevin Murphy Doo Over
My hairstylist Zoe introduced me to Kevin Murphy’s Doo Over product. She used it to style my hair after a cut and I’ve been hooked ever since. It gives me extra volume whether my hair is curly or straight. After styling, I flip my head upside down and spray Doo Over in my roots. It adds so much oomph to my otherwise flat and bleh hair. Plus – it doesn’t weigh my hair down! It’s pricey I know, but a can will last a very long time.
Hi Nicole! I’m new to your blog and am enjoying reading your posts. The Trader Joe’s post gave me so many ideas from the comments section, I may have to take out a loan for my next visit! I too, am a nail biter. I have tried EVERYTHING and the two products that have helped me grow out my nails are the Trind Nail Balsam and Trind Nail Repair Natural. They are expensive, but really have worked for me.
Thanks for reading amy!!
