Well Irene, you sure messed up my weekend.  And by messed up, I mean you made me sit inside, actually pick up a book, watch lots of TV, and spend some quality time with Bry.  How dare you.  I guess this weekend could have been worse.  We luckily did not lose power and no flooding.  However, many people in the Philadelphia area did lose power and may be out of power for up to two weeks!  I’m counting my blessings.
I did get to rummage through some old books and found this one sitting on our bookshelf.  The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls.  I’m about 20 pages in and it’s pretty good so far.  Have any of you read  it?  Is it good?
But eventually after all the rain stopped, me and Bry decided to be brave and drive down to the creek a few miles from our house to see the damage.  I, of course, not wanting to get out of my lounge clothes, decided to keep on my nike pants and throw on my Larabar shirt!  Pardon the chapped lips! EEK. We ended up seeing a street, (more like what used to be a street), filled with water from the creek.  Check it out.
Crazy!
Tonight I plan on eating dinner, watching Big Brother & the VMAs.  No, I will not be watching Jersey Shore before the VMAs because Big Brother is on then, and Big Brother trumps all. End of story.

Glad you were safe and it wasn't worse! And kind of nice to have a day "made" to stay in and chill. 😉

i read this book a few years back and loved it. SO eye opening and just really well written. she wrote another book called half-broke horses which was also good, but not as good as the glass castle. and i recently got introduced to big brother and must agree with you, it's the best when it comes to reality TV

Thanks Casey! Yea so glad we were safe. I think Rey reported almost ten deaths!

Yikes–so glad you're safe! Enjoy the VMAs–I'm just turning them on too 🙂

Thanks Brittany! Haha Larabar sent me the shirt last year when I did a review for them, and it's one of my favorite shirts! haha.
