9 Noteworthy Recent Amazon Purchases

Alright you guys. It’s been a hot minute since I shared some recent Amazon purchases, so I’m here today to do just that. There’s some good stuff in here – including tech, kids gear, home supplies and more. Let’s get into it.

1. Steamer: After talking about it for months, I finally went ahead and purchased a steamer. It works great and steams my blouses really quickly. I also love that it’s hand held and I can pack it when traveling. Not much else to say about it.

2. Outlet Covers: Of course when you’re baby proofing, you buy plug covers – those little plastic things that fill the outlet holes so you kid can’t stick her finger inside. But what do you do about outlets that have things plugged into them, like lamps with long cords? Vienna loves to pull the cords out from the wall, which clearly is a safety issue. So, I searched around on Amazon and found these things called outlet covers. They shorten cords and keep them hidden. It’s a genius invention! If you have kids, I highly recommend trying these out.

3. Cell Phone Dock for Car: I’m behind the times on this one for sure. But if you don’t have a cell phone dock for your car, you’re missing out. This one clips onto your air vent and adjusts to fit all phone sizes. Unlike those magnet versions, this keeps my phone in place and has never fallen off. I raved about it so much that Bryan copied me and bought one for his car.

4. Bath Toy Caddy: Giving Vienna a bath is one of Bryan’s responsibilities, and I swear he buys her new bath toys on the regular. They were building up, so we desperately needed a way to corral them all. This caddy had great reviews, so we thought we’d give it a shot. I like that it has slots on the bottom and sides to reduce mold and grime. It’s also adjustable to fit any size bath tub.

5.  Dimpl Toy: I bought this toy for Vienna to play with at restaurants. It’s a huge hit and keeps her occupied for a while. She loves pushing the bubbles in and out. It’s BPA-free and made of 100% food-grade silicone, so I’m not nervous about her putting it in her mouth, which she inevitably does. It’s also only 5.5 inches long so I can easily throw it in my purse.

6. Bona Floor Mop: I was recently talking with a girlfriend about my need for a new mop. My Swiffer just wasn’t cutting it. It was taking me forever to mop my house and I was going through multiple Swiffer pads each time. She raved about her Bona mop, so I ordered one on Amazon while at her house. I’ve used it a few times and it makes cleaning the floors so easy. You’re probably wondering, “What makes this any different than a Swiffer?” Well first off, the Bona has a washable pad, so no need to keep buying disposable pads and killing the environment. Secondly, the mop head is much larger, so it cleans the floor quicker. Lastly, and probably the best selling point, is that the cleaning solution dries fast and doesn’t leave streaks.

7. Toddler Plates: We love these plates for Vienna. They are BPA-free, dishwasher-safe, and stackable. Before buying plates, I would just throw a bunch of food on Vienna’s highchair tray. It was getting difficult to know how much she was eating and how much I was really giving her. Portion sizes were basically anything I could fit on her tray. #badmom.

8. Cabinet Locks: We bought cabinet locks a few months ago, and I’m convinced these are the best ones on the market. First off, there’s no nails or screws and you don’t need tools to install, so it’s perfect for those of you who are renting like me. It sticks to the inside of your doors with a super strong 3m adhesive. Secondly, they are completely invisible when your cabinets are shut. No hideous latches! And lastly, they are a breeze to use. You just open the door slightly, press down on the lever, and continue pulling open the door.

9. Citrus Juicer: I don’t know why it’s taken me this long to buy a citrus juicer, but here we are. Better late than never, right? I love this one because it’s under $20, is dishwasher safe, and has two separate compartments – one for lemons and one for limes. No more picking out the seeds for me!
