SPIbelt

As a new runner, I’ve been trying to figure out what types of clothing, shoes, and other gear works best for me.  I wondered how runners held on to all of their personal belongings during races and training runs.  “Maybe they put them into their shoes or in their bras,” I thought.  Some do, but others have a SPIbelt.  I found this company by reading other runners’ blog posts about their favorite gear.  The SPIbelt was mentioned numerous times, so I knew I had to test it out.   Fortunately, SPIbelt sent me over a product to review.   I can’t thank them enough, because this product is amazing.

I originally wanted to try the SPIbelt to use for my first 5K, because I wanted a place to hold my ID and my cell phone.  I received my SPIbelt a little over a week before the race and knew I should go out and run to test it out before the race.  This this DOES NOT MOVE!  Here’s a description of the belt from the SPIbelt website.  “Sleek, expandable, secure, and does not bounce.”  I couldn’t describe it any better.  I was a bit hesitant about this product, because I figured that it would bother me and I would have to keep adjusting it during my runs.  However to my surprise, I forgot it was even on.

Just to note: I typically wear the belt under my clothing, but since I was wearing black pants you wouldn’t have been able to see the black belt.

When I first opened up the package from SPIbelt I thought, “How the heck is my iPhone going to fit in there”?   The great thing about the belt is that it is expandable.   It can be squished into practically nothing if you need to pack it away someplace, but the material expands when you place the items into it.  So, what’s in my SPIbelt on a daily basis?  My iPhone 4, my ID, credit card, and a few dollars in cash.
