Trail running

Today’s post is going to be rather short because I am exhausted and didn’t have time to fully prep for a post today.

The other day I realized that I much prefer running at a state park near our house than circling around our development 10x.  There’s nothing more monotonous than running in laps around the neighborhood.  I actually am learning to HATE it.  I much prefer to run along the trails and running paths in a park.  The park has so much better scenery, plus I don’t have to loop around a bunch of times.  One Sunday, I did a 3 mile loop with Bry.  He didn’t run with me the whole time, but I passed him around mile 2 as I was turning back around.

There was so much to look at: the trees, the grass, the open skies.  Oh, and I can’t forget the amount of hills I had to run.  The park is definitely the place to go to train for a hilly race.

Here are the splits from that run.
Mile 1:  10:07
Mile 2:  11:41
Mile 3:  9:31

On an unrelated note, this is a photo of one of my favorite candies.  I’ve had the lemon drops before, so I knew these would be delicious as well.

delicious candy.

No running for me today. It’s going to storm pretty soon, and I’m just tired. I have a date with my bed and the TV.
What’s your favorite type of hard candy?
Do you take mid day naps?

My favorite type of hard candy is a watermelon Jolly Rancher. <3 I wish I could take midday naps, but I don't think my bosses or coworkers would appreciate it, hahaha!
