This weekend was pretty great. There was just the right balance of relaxing, napping, and shopping. That’s the perfect mix for me!
Friday
After work I stopped by my favorite happy hour restaurant/bar to meet up with old co-workers. One of the women was leaving, so we celebrated her new job opportunity with margaritas! It is a tradition with my old company, and I was glad that I went. It was so nice seeing everyone, even though it has only been a month.
Saturday
My alarm went off at 6 AM on Saturday. I had to drop my car off at the dealership for inspection. Luckily, Shelly (yes, my car) passed! She’s healthy! After dropping my car off, Bry and I took his grandmom to a bridge tournament near Arcadia University. I got to nap a bit in the car, so I wasn’t too cranky.
Before we got home, both of us were starving so we stopped at a diner near our house and got breakfast. It was very delicious. Bry had eggs benedict and potatoes and I had scrambled eggs with potatoes, rye toast, and a lot of coffee.
When we finally got home we used the rest of the day to catch up on TV shows and nap on the couch. Perfection. We both had a very busy week last week, so we had the Voice, X Factor and other reality shows to watch. X Factor is actually a really good show. I never watched a full season in the past, but this year I watch the show every week. Demi Lovato is my favorite judge.
I checked the mail during a break in between shows and found this gem in the mail. The Trader Joe’s Fearless Flyer! To my surprise this entire issue focused on PUMPKIN!
Sunday
I was able to sleep in until 8 AM Sunday morning, which was great! Catching up on sleep was a necessity this weekend. After having breakfast, Bry and I went food shopping for items for dinner this week. Up on the menu this week: spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce, baked eggplant and corn, soup and whatever else we can throw together quickly. Once the groceries were brought into the house, I drove over to the KOP mall to shop. Bryan opted to stay home, because shopping with me sometimes takes a while. The goodies I purchased: new GAP jeans, Dove body wash, and 2 candles from Bath and Body works (Brandied Pear & Snowed In). I started burning the Brandied Pear candle during dinner and it smells delicious. I told Bryan I would wait until it snowed to use Snowed In.
For dinner, Bryan had a pork chop with a piece of tomato, basil and mozzarella on top and I had tomato, basil, mozzarella with my vegetarian spicy chik’n patty with a side of BBQ sauce.
