Weekend Recap (2/22- 2/24)

This weekend was pretty fantastic, if I say so myself.  From the beginning to the end, I had a great time.  Here’s a look at this past weekend festivities.

Friday

On Friday night after work, Bryan and I spent time with our friends Leslee (from Her Happy Balance) and her boyfriend.  Our original plan was to go ice skating, but once we got to the rink and realized it was pre-teen heaven, we opted to go get milkshakes instead.

After milkshakes, we drove over to the pool hall to get a few games in.  I am the WORST at pool.  I can barely hit the balls.  That being said, I hung out on the sidelines.  Once our hour of pool was up, Leslee’s boyfriend took a stab at beating the record on the punching game.  He did it!

Saturday

We had to wake up pretty early on Saturday morning, because we needed to get to Bryan’s parents house by 8:30AM.  Bryan and his dad had plans to go to a woodworking convention, while Bryan’s mom, sister, and I had another bridal show to attend.

I started the day off right with a juice that I have been LOVING lately.  I told you about it last week.  Apple, celery, spinach, carrot.

Before the bridal show we stopped and got breakfast at a nearby diner.  I got what I usually get when I go out for breakfast – French toast!  I love trying different restaurants’ French toast.  I think I’m officially a French toast guru at this point.

The bridal show was fantastic.  Absolutely awesome!  This one was on the mainline at the Radnor Hotel.  There was plenty of champagne, food, vendors and a fashion show!  I picked up some booklets for our honeymoon, which I am the most excited to plan.

The photos all came out blurry, but here’s one anyway of the fashion show.  Apparently colored suits are in this year – everything from dark brown to light grey.

Sunday

On Sunday, I was able to sleep in!  I love those mornings.  After only getting a few hours of sleep on Friday night, I definitely needed it.  Bryan and Leslee’s boyfriend went out to the mall on Sunday morning, and I eventually joined in the afternoon.  I had to pick up a new scarf and tank top of Nordstrom.  While there, we saw penguins!

There was a SeaWorld tent at the mall and Bryan called me and told me he saw penguins, so I made him take me over to see them.  They were SO SO cute.  The one penguin on the left was posing and interacting with the crowd.  The other one was more reserved and kind of just hung out in the background.

Sunday night, like most people, I watched the Oscars.  It was honestly pretty boring, but I was super ecstatic when Anne Hathaway won for Best Supporting Actress and Jennifer Lawrence brought home Best Actress in a Leading Role.  It was a shame that Jennifer Lawrence tripped on the way up to the stage to accept her award.  But, she recovered gracefully!

I’m glad you enjoyed the bridal show! It is definitely a part of the wedding process you have to do at least once. Plus it is extremely helpful! I agree Jennifer Lawrence is definitely one of the best dressed!
