Weekend Recap (7/20- 7/21)

Don’t you just hate when your weekends come to an end?  I know I do.  This weekend went by so quickly, I feel like it wasn’t even a full weekend when it was.  Here’s a look at what I did this weekend.  Remember to comment below and let me know all the fun things you did this weekend!

Saturday

On Saturday morning, Bryan  went out to breakfast with one of his friends and I went shopping for some much needed fall clothes.  I headed over to Gap and had a party in the dressing room.

I ended up not getting the dress on the left.  Although it was SO comfortable, it was a bit big and I knew it would end up annoying me.  I left Gap with the striped shirt I’m wearing in the right photo, the green jacket and a pair of boot cut jeans.  The jeans are pretty long, but when I’m wearing heeled boots they should be fine.  Plus, they were $17.00!  Gap was running a 40% off sale all weekend.  Great timing!

After shopping, I had to run to Target for a few things and then I decided to sit and relax in Barnes and Noble before heading home.  I picked up a magazine to read and grabbed an iced soy chai at the Starbucks inside.

Why a magazine of France you’re probably wondering?  Bryan and I were considering doing France for our honeymoon but after some thought we decided that we’d rather just pay for an all inclusive vacation someplace in the Caribbean.  So much more relaxing and a lot less to worry about.  However at some point, a vacation in Europe will be happening.  Just not next year.

When I got home, Bryan was outside watering our basil plant.  He didn’t know I took this picture through the blinds until after he came inside and I was laughing.  I’m glad he’s keeping up with it, because if it was just up to me the thing would be shrived and fried by now.

On Saturday night Bryan surprised me by taking me out for ice cream at this cool place nearby.  It’s actually right near some falls and the view was amazing.  We even saw a huge family of geese.

Even little baby geese!  They were so cute.  The geese were really close to where we were standing.  I was even nervous that the one was going to come up and steal my ice cream!

Sunday

Sunday was super relaxing.  We woke up, had breakfast in bed and watched a movie in bed until I was ready to start moving for the day.  I planned out my meals for this week again and was pleased with the outcome.  We drove over to the grocery store to get all the items for this week’s meals and came home and laid on the couch until dinner.  It was WAY too hot outside to be sitting at the pool this weekend.  I wish the weather would drop a bit, because mid/high 90s is out of control.

Before dinner, I figured I should try out the KitchenAid mixer we got as an engagement gift.  It was super easy to use and also really easy to clean!  Which is definitely always a plus.  I made chocolate chip cookies, per Bryan’s request.  Cookies are his favorite dessert.  He prefers them over cake, ice cream, pie, really anything.

After dinner, we watched two of my favorite shows: Big Brother and The Killing.  OMG, if any one is watching The Killing, last night’s episode was SO GOOD!

Talk to Me

I love my kitchen aid hand mixer! I’ve almost bought the stand mixer several times (I’ve used them before and love them!) but I don’t want to sacrifice counter / storage space. Maybe in our next place!
