Weekend Recap (9/14- 9/16)

This weekend flew by so fast!  I can’t believe it’s already Monday again.  Today’s the first day of my new job and I am very excited!  I was supposed to get up around 5 am this morning (which is 45 minutes earlier than usual), because I’m not sure how traffic is going to be getting to my new job.  However, my alarm went off and I decided to go back to sleep for 45 minutes.

Now that I’m sort of awake, I figured that staring at my bright computer screen could help me wake up completely.  Let’s take a look at my weekend starting with Friday.

Friday

Friday was my last day of work at my old job.  (Technically Saturday was, but I’ll get to that later).  For lunch, my amazing co-workers took me to Benihana for hibachi!  I didn’t even know this restaurant existed and apparently they are all over the country.  I’m so glad I know about it now, because it was so good!

After lunch on Friday, Danica and I had a lot of things to do regarding the autism walk on Saturday.  My old company was sponsoring it and we had a lot of packing to do for our booth materials.  It was also my brilliant idea to get 36 mylar balloons.  That was fun trying to fit into Danica’s car… and then a few other people’s cars.

Andy and I have been cubicle neighbors since we started.  I think we are the only two people who haven’t moved cubicles.  He’s going to miss me, I know.

Saturday

Bry and I woke up (not so) bright and early on Saturday morning for the autism walk at Citizen’s Bank Park.  I planned for Danica and I to meet down there by 7 am so we would have time to unpack, set up, and get things underway before people started arriving at 8.

It ended up being a really nice day and a great way to end my employment at my old company.

After the walk was over around 1, Bry and I headed home and crashed.  We napped for a few hours and then got ready to see an old coworker’s band at a bar not too far from my house.  They were so good and we can’t wait to see them play again!

Sunday

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday.  It was such a busy day yesterday.  I was so busy that I didn’t take any photos.  Here’s a run down on what I did.

  • Long run of 6 miles on the treadmill in 57:56!
  • Shower (obviously)
  • Spent 3 hours at Barnes and Noble going over stuff for my new job
  • Loft, H&M, TJMaxx
  • Home finally!

Talk to Me

  • How many miles did you do this weekend?
  • Have you ever been to a Benihana restaurant?
  • What’s your favorite place to shop for work attire?

I think that I’ve heard of Benihana (I’m thinking it was mentioned in an episode of Friends possibly…?), but have never been there (we don’t have them up here!).
I ran 11mi on Friday and 3mi on Saturday and biked a bunch — 6 days to race day!! Ah!
I’m lucky enough to get to wear scrubs to work, so shopping for work isn’t anywhere close to as fun as hitting up H&M and TJMaxx! Jealous!!

Go you! 11mi is great! Good job. I did 6 and I thought that was a lot. Sometimes I wish I could wear scrubs because then I wouldnt have to spend so much time in the morning figuring out what im going to wear.

Thanks, Erica! New days and even the first few weeks are rough. A lot to learn but so exciting!

where is your new job?!?! congrats!

It’s in a suburb of Philly! We’ll have to chat soon!
