This week I wasn’t as busy as last week, so I had the extra time after work to relax and rest.  Always a good time!  Last night I had a terrible stomach ache.  I’m not sure what it was, but something I had yesterday did not work out.  I tried the Jelly Belly sport beans during my run and felt fine, and for dinner I had the salad pictured below.  After dinner when Bryan got home I had a Philly soft pretzel.  Nothing too out of the ordinary, except for the Jelly Belly beans.  Have any of you experienced stomach cramping after eating these?

Let’s take a look at my favorites from this past week.

  1. This salad.  The ingredients are:  lettuce, 1/2 tomato, 1/2 avocado, goat cheese, and raspberry vinaigrette.  It’s basically whatever I had left over in my fridge.  I had this salad on Wednesday night and Thursday night.  The avocado and the goat cheese makes this salad pretty creamy and I love that it adds a bit of dimension to the salad dressing. photo(382)
  2. Getting back in the gym.  I know I know that I’ve been saying a million times that I want to get some runs in outside, but by the time I get home and get dressed it is almost dark outside.  Because I am not comfortable running in the dark by myself, I just go to the gym.  It makes me feel safe and I don’t have to be anxious. photo(383)
  3. Taking time for weight training.  I mentioned on my post about why I think my training isn’t working that I haven’t been taking time for weights.  Some of you commented and said that you don’t do too much weight training while training for a race.  It was so nice to hear that, but I know personally that if I want to complete my half without injury, I need to make sure that my legs can carry me the whole way.

  4. Listening to the Frank Sinatra Pandora Station.  I know it’s really random, but for our in-office Halloween happy hour/party I dressed up as Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany’s.  Frank, Fred Astaire, and Michael Buble got me in the mood while I was getting ready.photo(10)

I don’t typically listen to music in the morning, but usually have the news on in the background.
