It’s Monday again friends. But before we really get this week started, I wanted to share with you some scenes from my weekend. Let’s go!
On Friday night, Bryan and I went to the Fright Factory with my dad and his girlfriend. It was pretty scary, but nothing too crazy. I think I was more nervous and scared before we even got into the place. Check out those scary dead mannequin things. I swore I thought one of them was real, but none were.
On Saturday morning while Bry was helping his friend move some furniture around, I started making a grocery list for the week. I can’t wait to try some of the recipes in the Runner’s World Cookbook! Up on the agenda tonight: jerk shrimp!
Sunday was a pretty busy but relaxing day for us. Early in the morning, we made our way over to Starbucks. I had a free drink coupon that was expiring soon, so we got a venti chai and sat outside Starbucks. It was a bit chilly, but still nice to get some fresh air. After Starbucks we stopped at Wegman’s since it’s close to where we were. Side note: Wegman’s has some of the best flowers (aside from those weird rainbow roses that are dyed – those freak me out). We picked up some bacon and was on our way home when we randomly decided to walk around Whole Foods. If you’re looking for something fun to do and you’re bored out of your mind, walk around Whole Foods. There’s tons of things to taste test and you might even get some inspiration for meals!
When we came home, we realized that in a few hours our apartment complex was hosting an Art Show in our clubhouse. Of course we had to go! Free food and entertainment?! Sign us up.
For dinner, I made Bryan the most epic burger – homemade patty, cheese, bacon, fried egg, jalapenos, and ketchup. He won’t admit that it was delicious, but I’m sure it was because he ate it all. I purchased ground beef while I was out shopping on Saturday and since I never made homemade burgers before I figured Sunday was the perfect opportunity. (For all of you that are new readers, I’m a pescetarian, meaning that I’m a vegetarian but eat fish. However, I still cook meat for my fiancé.)
Perfect way to end the weekend.
