After a week long of dealing with computer issues at work, I needed this past weekend!  I left work on Friday with a terrible headache from going back and forth on calls with our IT company. I’m working you now… this post has a LOT of pictures.

I don’t remember what I did after work on Friday.  But I probably spent the night watching the Olympic Trials.  That’s all I’ve been watching lately!

On Saturday morning, I went to Rooftop Yoga at Whole Foods again.  This time it was a teacher from a different studio.  I enjoyed it a lot.  At first I wasn’t too sure, because she started with random ab exercises that felt kind of like Pilates (& I HATE Pilates), but overall it was nice.  The weather really started to steam up half-way through. I don’t have any photos because I forgot my cell at home =(

After yoga and my normal Saturday Starbucks trip, Bry and I went to the pool for some much needed relaxation and tanning.  It was super HOT outside, so we wanted to get there right when they opened at 10am to beat the even higher afternoon temperatures!

Once we had enough of the heat, we checked out a park around the corner from us.  I don’t really like walking in the woods (I watched WAY too many crime shows), but Bry wanted to see what it was all about, so I did.

After walking around for a little bit, we stopped at Rita’s Water Ice for their new flavor… sour patch kids! THIS WAS AMAZING.  This beats out their Swedish Fish flavored water ice by far!  My favorite part was that we got a few sour patch kids on the side.  I’m not sure what they wanted us to do with them, but mine went swimming in the water ice!

On Sunday, I woke up a little after 8am had breakfast and then went to a farmer’s market with Bry.  I didn’t even know it existed, but I read on my friend’s Facebook wall that she was going.  We picked up a DELICIOUS guavanero bbq sauce, made from fresh guava puree!

After picking up that delicious bbq sauce, we went to the pool (AGAIN), but this time only for about an hour.  It was crazy hot outside, and neither of us wanted to get sun poisoning.

After taking a quick shower, I decided that I wanted to pick up some fruit for the week.  Right before I left, I checked my email and low and behold… an email from LOFT.  I swear I get at least 2 a day.  The email said that everything was 40% off, so of course I had to stop there before Whole Foods.  It didn’t help my cause that LOFT is next to Whole Foods.  I picked up a pink tank top for only $10 from LOFT and lots of fruits and veggies for the week.

I brought along my handy Sharkies water bottle to stay hydrated.  I love this bottle, because you put the lid in the freezer with the ice pack inside.  So great.

I did go to the gym afterwards, in order to really get this month started on the right foot.  I did 2 VERY VERY VERY HOT miles on the treadmill.  It was so warm in the gym today.  It didn’t help that the treadmills are right next to the windows.  I also did a quick ab workout and tried to do a 4 minute plank that I mentioned in my July Goals post.  HAHA.  I tried it today, and it sounds a lot easier than it is.  This will be a monthly goal to work up to that much time.

We had a great dinner: guavanero bbq shrimp, couscous, and fried peppers and onions!  This was definitely the best dinner I’ve had in a long time.  But it didn’t really compare to much lately, because our dinners haven’t been too interesting.

What did you do this weekend?

Are you watching the Olympic Trials?  Who’s your favorite?

That shrimp dish looks so tasty – I need to have that right now. 😉

OM so needing a print of that first photo.
the ultimate in summer CALM.

I have never heard of water ice before! Down here where I am we have snow balls though. I avidly have been watching the Olympic trials, esp gymnastics. Love it!

Glad to hear you like the new water ice! 🙂 Rita’s always gives out the candy of their new flavors. So they won’t be around too long, but I like your swimming idea! Haha.

And I always watch the Olympic trials. I’m too addicted to them!

Weird, I used to work at a Rita’s a LONG time ago, and we didn’t have candy then. But actually now that I think about it I do remember them giving away swedish fish when that flavor came out.
