Weekend Recap (8/25 – 8/26)

Good morning!  I started off my Monday morning with a dark walk over to our clubhouse with Bry for coffee.  They have the best—Starbucks!  The perks of living in a complex!

This weekend was pretty low-key, which was exactly what I wanted.  Instead of going through day by day, here are some highlights from my weekend.

I took another Hot Power Yoga class on Sunday morning.  I was, yet again, super sweaty by the time I got home.  So refreshing.  A full post will be up about my experience tomorrow.

I mentioned on that Bry and I would be getting our library cards this weekend… and we did!  Our local library is small, but really comfy.  The older gentleman who helped me register for a card was the nicest man!  He walked me through, step-by-step, how to sign up online to request books.  Although I knew how to do this, and actually already searched for books in the database, I let him show me how to do it.  He seemed so passionate about helping.  He was even wearing an L.L. Bean watch and Ralph Lauren polo.  Friendly and fashionable!  Smile

Being that I only looked through the non-fiction section (not a huge fan of fiction), I checked out “Make the Leap, a Practical Guide to Breaking the Patterns that Hold You Back.”  I’m already on chapter 5, so I can sense a book review in the near future!

I tried a soup I’ve never had before for lunch on Sunday afternoon.  Amy’s No Chicken Noodle soup had been sitting in my cabinet since January when we moved into our new place.  I finally opened it this weekend and had it.  Oh man, is it amazing!  It actually sort of tastes like chicken broth, but it’s not.  Here is what’s inside:

Ingredients : (Vegan) Filtered water, organic onions, organic noodles (organic semolina flour, water), organic carrots, organic tofu, (filtered water, organic soybeans, nigari [magnesium chloride, a natural firming agent]), organic celery, organic leeks, hydrolyzed corn and soy protein, organic high oleic safflower and/or sunflower oil, spices*, yeast extract. Contains wheat and soy.*100% pure herbs & spices (no hidden ingredients).

  • Dairy free
  • Lactose free
  • No cholesterol
  • Tree nut free
  • Low fat
  • Vegan
  • Certified kosher

The only negative thing about the soup is that the sodium count is relatively high at 540mg per cup.

Another highlight that was not pictured from this weekend was a shopping trip with Bry on Sunday afternoon.  Bryan usually hates going shopping with me, because I take forever.  However, this time I would say that we were in and out of the mall in under an hour and a half!  I finally got the opportunity to use up a gift card that I had since Christmas for Express and exchanged Bath and Body Works wallflowers that we never used for more “autumn” scented ones.  Actually, the scent we got was called Autumn Smile.  It’s never too early.

I didn’t go to the 80s 5K this weekend, because I woke up on Saturday with what seemed to be a cold.  I took some medicine and Zicam and went back to sleep.  Sometimes, you just need to listen to your body and do what you think is right.

How was your weekend?
What scent do you have in your home?
Have you ever tried any of the other Amy’s soups?  Which ones?  Thoughts?

Ya, sodium count on soups can be INSANE. It isnt a bad thing to have every once and awhile (also not very good, but not bad if you know what I mean).

I haven;t had that brand before… thanks for the weekly recap!

One of my favorite scents is Yankee Candle sage & citrus! I just picked up a tart the other day & also have the car jar!

Oooh, i’ve never smelled that one. I love fall scents though.

Weekend was great! I love the smell of Vanilla or Apple and Spice in the house 🙂

Delicious! When we were at bath and body works, my boyfriend wanted to get vanilla cupcake or something like that and it was way too sweet for me!

SOSOSO glad you followed through with the library cards!! Not that I was doubting you, but still! (Which reminds me that I have books to pick up at my library today. Thanks!) I’m more in to veggie chilli than soup …
Lighting both vanilla and pumpkin candles at the same time makes home smell absolutely fabulous. I’d say that’s autumn-y..? Whatever it is it’s awesome!!
Hope your week is as great as your weekend sounded! 🙂

YES! I was super excited to get library cards. Now I have all the books I want!

My husband adores Amus tomato soup. Sadly I’m NOT a soup’er person 🙂

I love soup! I could eat it all year round. My favorite is actually Campbell’s Vegetarian Vegetable 🙂
