Why Your Twenties Matter

Getting up this morning was rough.  Bry and I went to the Phillies/Reds games last night after work and we didn’t get home until late.  After eating a (very) late dinner of scrambled eggs and taking showers, we didn’t get into bed until midnight.

It didn’t matter, because we had such a great time at the game.  It’s always nice to do something a little bit out of the ordinary.  Bry and I usually don’t usually do much during the work week, so driving down to the city for the game was a change in our routine… and that’s awesome!  Plus, we had phenomenal seats!

The day was sort of last minute, because I received the tickets the day before!  During a charity auction I hosted at work, my boss auctioned off a pair of his season tickets.  Unfortunately, the woman who bid and won couldn’t attend so she gave them to me!  I was super appreciative and more than happy to go!

It was 90’s night which meant the Phillies were wearing 90’s jerseys and 90’s music played during the game.  Nothing like a little Boyz 2 Men and Vanilla Ice to get the party started!

Bryan was making fun of me, because I wore my jean jacket over my tshirt in case it was breezy (which it was).  He said I looked very 90’s.  Haha, not the reason I wore it, but I guess it worked…

The Phillies lost, but we stayed the whole game even after many people around us left.  It was a very quick, but close game!  3 to 2.

The Defining Decade: Why Your Twenties Matter

I recently saw a Youtube video by Alex Ikonn on his review of the book, “.”  I enjoy all of Alex’s videos, because he offers his insight on business, how to succeed, his life experiences thus far, and much much more!  You’d be surprised to know that he’s only in his mid-twenties!

The key points Alex makes in his video:
  • Really analyze what you want out of life and define your goals.
  • Picture yourself when you’re older.  What is your life like?  Use this as a vision for how to live your life to get yourself there.
  • You’re not going to be young forever and now is the perfect time to get back up, regroup, refocus and fix things.

I looked at the online directory at my local library and unfortunately this book has been checked out.  It’s due back the first week of September, so I’m definitely going to have to head over there and keep and eye out for it… or stalk the library until I see it.  Smile

I just came across your blog today, and I wanted to tell you I love it!! You are absolutely adorable.

-They may of lost that night, but they totally just swept the nationals 🙂 🙂

Thanks for reading Jessie. I’m going to your blog now!!

Awesome. Hope you enjoy it 🙂

Definitely thought provoking, thanks for sharing!! I find that my 20s have been a turning point … I spent all of my teens wanting to be older, and then suddenly I hit my 20s and started wanting to be younger again. It’s only been within the past 18 months that I’ve decided which direction I want to point my life in … Have to say – I’m not looking back now! 🙂

Interesting! Thanks for sharing — I’ll keep an eye out for this book. Sounds like some useful, introspective suggestions.

This is fantastic!

I think your 20’s are pivotal. So many changes happen in your life and you grow tremendously. That being said, I am excited to see how my 30’s look as I embark on those in November 😉
